Kind of pointless

NolaGarden

You can add what's in your garden but only some of my plants show when they were planted. Some plants that are Bonnie Plants, don't even appear in the catalog. I did better keeping a journal on my own.

Keep developing it!

I really want to love this app. It is just what I was looking for and is the best on the market to date - but that's not saying much. It's so glitchy and crashes constantly. I've tried four times to choose a planting date, but it crashes. You can't scroll down past the screen to see a long note. I see no way to reference planting dates once they've been input - and it really should have a calendar that calculates expected maturity based on the planting date. The pictures are lovely, the information in the catalog is very helpful - just please fix it so it's usable!!

I love this app but...

I love this app but I wish it were developed more. I love that I can keep track of what's planted in my garden, take notes, take pictures and look up the different plants BUT I wish it did a better job at journaling/laying out "my garden". I'd love to compare photos for instance and see how my crops are progressing. I also wish there was more information about plants, pests etc within the app like there is on the website. It is annoying to have this app and then constantly be googling the website for answers. Maybe add links to website that one could access from within the app? It's a great start though and is helping me keep track this far. Just wish there was more to the app!!!

Initial thoughts not great

I added all my plants to the garden and as I did so it asked when they were planted and for the life of me I can't find where that information is stored it's no where to be found and the whole reason I was looking for an app was to keep track of when I planted!

Good Idea

Jhil52

However, I am frustrated trying to use the app. I entered my planting dates and saved the info. Now I can't get the info to view. What's the point of entering the data - if it disappears forever?

5 Star Potential Squandered

This App can be summed up in four parts, list, notes, resources, weather. List: the list of plants in your garden is fine, but with limited usefulness. If you have Bonnie plants, or similar varieties, you get basic care and harvest info, same result as a basic Google search, but it's all stacked in one spot. The good: any plants you tag in a note, that note shows up on the plants info screen. The bad: the care instructions are super basic. I'd expect more considering the source. Notes: Notes is such a good idea gone completely wrong. You can only see one day at a time, and built in activities you can select like fertilizing just show a little icon. So to know when you last fertilized a specific plant you have to scroll day by day until you maybe notice the tiny tick mark, then open it and scroll the ENTIRE list of plants in your garden and see which is checked off. Which is obnoxious if you have a large garden. The photos you add to the notes actually add independent of the note so if you delete something you have to delete the photos separately. Resources: basic but not without their usefulness to beginners or small scale container gardening, I'm sure the bulk of their customers. The lists of pests and blights would be so, so much more useful with real life pictures and examples and not a single zoomed in colored pencil drawing. Weather: how in the world do you have a weather enabled gardening app with no rainfall numbers or alerts? I should be able to set a reminder for "don't forget extra water, temp exceeds X degrees" or "don't overwater, X amount of rain today"

Good Luck Tracking your Produce!!

Pro: This app is fun if you want to list all of your Garden and track the days they have been in the ground. Con: The harvest tracker is poor at best. You might get one day to actually store your harvest but try to do it multiple days. I have lost all of my harvests data except for the first one I ever entered. I had to go back to pen and paper to track my harvest. Thank you Bonnie plants for trying but you fell a little short on this one.

Best I've used but room for improvement

I've tried quite a few different apps for tracking plant dates and what I've planted. This one is my favorite with a couple caveats. There are a lot of features including the ability to upload photos of your plants. (And recently tag the plant pictured, which is cool) Though I really enjoy seeing my plants progress over time, the photo feature is extremely prone to crashing the app. So much so that I wait till I have a few minutes to add the pics, knowing it will crash multiple times in the process. (Takes two or three tries per photo). I wouldn't bother if I didn't really like this app. Fixing that (as well as making it harder to accidentally 'unplant' something-confirmation message maybe?) would make this a 5 star app.
