As is expected with any mobile game these days, and apparently in the AAA game market to, this game is pay to play. Although unless you really care for a custom team, you can play this game without buying a thing and still have a good time.

If you run out of coins you gotta watch awful adds and when it is done you don't get those coins. So it kinda impossible to play after a few matches

I love almost every thing but... I hate that you can't score on face off. In real hockey I scored from opening face off? But anyway I love this game and keep making more

I love this game so much so I've bought in app purchases but there are some problems. Comparing this game to soccer stars it is lousy there is way less features and it's not as visually appealing. Hope there is an update that add new arenas cause it I lacking of them, but I would recommend this app.
