History Line

History Line is a collaborative learning game for the iPad focusing on US History. The game can be played by 1-6 players. As a single player game, a series of historical events are presented on the screen and the goal of the game is to place the events onto a timeline at the bottom of the screen in the correct sequence. When the event placed on the line is correct the date appears below.

In multi-player mode, up to 6 people can play by connecting their iPads via Bluetooth. One player should start a group and up to 5 additional players may join the group. When the game begins the timeline then stretches across all iPads with each player having responsibility for one portion of the timeline. The events are initially distributed randomly throughout all players’ iPads. Players must decide if events belong on their portion of the timeline or need to be sent to another player. Events pushed off the edge of one player’s screen will appear on the screen of the player immediately to the left or right, making one continuous timeline out of 2-6 iPad screens. All players must work collaboratively to place all events in the correct order throughout the multi-iPad timeline.

Challenging and fun way to review history for middle school exams. Also fun to see who is smarter, Mom or daughter!

I like this app & it's mate, Number Line, but they don't go far enough. I am ready to move on...or back or something. Where do I find new modules/time periods?

Very good app, except it won't let you go back to the regular page, it makes you finish the timeline that's the only problem I had with this app, otherwise it's a great app.

Fun app, but after I finished Columbus through Lincoln, there weren't any more options. Also, when I tapped on Main Menu, it exited the app. And, on westward expansion timeline there was a blank box - had to guess where to put it.
