Hashi

Hashi (also know as Hashiwokakero and Bridges) is an addictive, relaxing and engaging logic puzzle.

Games Free Five Lakes Studio, LLC iPhone, iPad, iPod

A summary of the rules appears below:

1. Construct bridges between islands such that each island has the proper number of bridges attached to it.
2. Bridges can placed in a horizontal or vertical orientation and may not overlap.
3. You can have at most two bridges directly connecting one island to another.
4. The network of bridges must connect each island to every other island. In other words,
if you pick any island in the puzzle you should be able to "walk" from it to any other island by travelling
over the bridges.

It couldn't be much simpler than that. And yet, hidden behind these simplistic rules you'll find some devilishly challenging puzzles. Or, if casual puzzling is more your speed, the small puzzles will nicely satisfy your cravings without tying your brain in knots.

Speaking of brains, Hashi includes a Daily Challenge to keep you mentally sharp. The Daily Challenge tracks your best score over different time periods allowing you to compete against a very worthy adversary: yourself.

We hope you enjoy Hashi. If you have suggestions on how we can improve Hashi, or any of our other products, feel free to contact using the Hashi Support link below.

Pretty good

It's easy to pick up and it's a good mental challenge. I bet it would be helpful for someone doing chemistry

Poor implementation of a great game
Hdyvcdruvsehd

There is a version for Linux called Bridges that is much better. Issues: - Clunky, glitchy, and unresponsive user interface - Often more than one possible solution per level - Some levels are nearly impossible without guessing - Needs to be updated for Retina display - There should either be no shadows or they should be at an angle, not straight down If this was an original game, I would rate it higher. It is, however, a poor copy of a great game. The Linux version is open source - why not lift the level creation algorithm from that one?

Great time killer

I'd put it in the same category as sudoku. Great puzzles at all levels. The daily challenge is a great bonus too.

Fun

This is a lot of fun. My son had these for a school assignment and now I play them for fun

It's free
Puzzling Dad

The biggest problem with this app is that the games are computer generated and don't have unique solutions. I like other apps that let me swipe to draw a bridge where this expects a tap between islands.

Needs Better Puzzles
Galactapuss

I'm happy to see Hashiwokakero on the Ipad, but I agree with the other review- the puzzles appear to be computer generated. The biggest gripe I have is that, while the puzzles are solvable, the large ones appear to require guessing and trial and error.

Gets boring
Bassgirldhs

At some point the puzzles become too easy and boring. But it's a nice mindless game to play

Soothing
Lewiru

When I get migraine headaches I can't focus on some of my more difficult games, but Hashi is soothing to play. I agree that it does get too easy once you've played for awhile. I think possibly the option of bigger boards, even if you have to pinch and zoom in & out, could create more challenging levels. Over-all a great game when you just want to "zone out" or need to kill some time!
