Doesn’t work

Arman87

Complete app for experts

Jee-jee77

I have been using this app for almost two years now. It takes some time to set it up and learn to use it but after that it does everything. Now it looks like the app hasn't been updated in a long time and the video import doesn't work well anymore. I tried to do the usual, but the app can't show the video properly and finally crashes. I have iOS 13.3.1. Apple might have changed something in iOS that makes the app not work well. Update to the app is definitely needed.

Garbage App

BDS911

The short version: This app is garbage, over complicated, counterintuitive, doesn’t work as advertised and constantly freezes/crashes. Don’t waste your time or money on it. The long version: There is a 29 page pdf on their website that only deals with syncing up video. It is outdated, over complicated and should be simplified. It references apps to use for multiple cameras that are no longer available. After reading the exhaustive instructions because the app itself is not at all user friendly nor is it easy to figure out, I took some test drives with it and my GoPros. The app would either freeze up or crash, multiple times, resulting in me having to pull over and reset everything each time. When I finally recorded some decent video from all three cameras, I was unable to sync the videos together with data overlay. I came back later to try again and the app says that it can not locate the videos. This app is a huge waste of time and money. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Does it all

GotThrottle

Been using the App for several years and it packs a ton of capability into your hands. It does require some trial and error and dedication to learn how to use properly, so that will deter some, but for those that want data and video overlay in a tight little package this is the best I’ve found. Harry’s support and updates are top notch!

Not Working

GT driver

I downloaded this app to run a few laps in Interlagos, famous F1 circuit. The other drivers were all anxious to see this app capabilities, too bad it does not open, it crashes before initiating. Can't tell if it is good or bad since for now it is not working. I have reported the problem on their developer site, lets see if they can solve the problem.

Great way to view iphone LapTimer data!

rfgf1

This is the best way to view and analyze lapping data. This app gives you some extra information (over and above the iphone app) while using the same views as are included with the iphone app. The new diagram view lets you see your current lap's speed at any point on the track as well as that of your reference lap (simultaneously). Very slick! Also gives you the accumulated time differential at any point during each lap for the two laps selected. And now with the new user-configurable color selection relating to lateral Gs on the lap diagram, I can better analyze which corners I need to work on. And the elevation map is particularly interesting, particularly at a track like Road America which has 170+ feet of elevation change. Have used at three tracks so far this summer with great reuslts. Go Harry, go! Version 14.2 update: Same quality as before, it just works, and continues to amaze my rack buddies with TraqMates. Absolutely no issues, the software works amazingly well, and next time in Germany I'll search out Harry and buy him a beer!

Outstanding!

I just took version 15 for a drive at Lime Rock and am extremely impressed. My installation uses the Dual XGPS150 @ 5 Hz, mounted to the harness bar vith the Makayama camera mount for the iPad. Easy to setup and use, excellent data capture and analysis tools...certainly an excellent value when compared to other dedicated systems. Excellent customer support via the author's website (and email) ...he clearly is a driving enthusiast and shares our passion. Off to Watkins Glen and Calabogie soon ... Yes, he has GPS data for those and many other tracks available in the vast track database.

Crashes?!

555sexydrive

Well I have yet to use on circuit, that will occur on May 20th. Have tried using the trip A-B mode from home to work, only owned for a couple days, but the program has crashed and when it does the data is lost completely. I noticed this on Lap Timer Pro on my iPhone as well. Just worried while out on track if the thing crashes that data is lost making this a bit worthless. So can only give it 3 stars at the moment. The potential is definitely there for a full 5. Have ordered an external GPS receiver and OBD2 link suggested by Harry's site. Won't have them in time for the event, but next time for sure.

An amazing set of tools

Raceerman911

I've been driving on track for the last 5 years. The tools provided by Harry's Lap timer are very helpful. I've gained real insight into where on track I am loosing time and what I need to do to address. I'm using the suite of tools. Timer on my 3GS iPhone, an external GPS as well as the OBD II interface to collect the data. I'm then using the iPad for review and analysis. The next step up in data acquisition and analysis in my book would require an additional investment of >1K to get more meaningful data. Great product Harry!
