Harald: A Game of Influence

"*** Terrific Game! Unique scoring conditions take a while to get used to but make the game very interesting. Might take 2-3 plays to ""get into"" but once you get the idea it haunts you and you want to get better at it with each play. -Ricks, Board Game Geek

BE THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PLAYER TO WIN THE KING'S FAVOR:
Harald is a card game of influence and majority. As the head of a village, each player will try to charm the most influential character of the realm to be noticed by the King and win his favor. But to win you will need to think and wisely use the abilities of each character.

LEARN HOW TO USE THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR POWERS!
Each turn, players execute three actions in order:
- play one card in the King's council
- play one card in the player's village
- draw cards to replenish your hand
There are six different characters, each with a different function and power. Discover the Wolf/scout, the Lynx/merchant, the Fox/bard, the Bear/warrior, the Goat/seafarer; the Boar/blacksmith. Discover each character's ability and use them in order to overtake your opponents!
Each animal will give you the ability to make a move at the end of your turn: you can steal cards from your adversary, try to exchange his or your cards with the council in order to play in your favor, return cards to erase their points or just place a good card on the top of the pile! Whatever you choose, decide wisely how to make the most of every move!

SCORE AS MANY POINTS AS YOU CAN!
The goal is simple: get the maximum number of points! In order to win, you need to pay attention to the cards' associations and put together the ones that work best.
At the end of the game, each card in the village of a player counts as many points as the number of times the same card appears in the King’s council. Play smartly in both your village and the council and don't forget to keep an eye on your opponents' villages in order to win.
EXPERIENCE MORE STRATEGY WITH THE BADGER/SCHOLAR!
Discover an exclusive card, which introduces a new character, the Badger/Scholar. This card offers you the possibility of protecting a series of characters in your own village. It makes the game harder for your opponents because if they want to destroy those cards, they will have to attack the Badger/Scholar first if he is present!

Might be my Favorite iOS Card Game
Nitecatchr

I just love this game, from the subtle strategy to the artwork, music and options. One small detail, the "AI" is accidentally spelled as "IA". Not a big deal, just something noticed. I have yet to win a single game but I won't stop trying! I'm hoping for expansions if there are plans for any.

Excellent game, but...

I'm in love with this deceptively simple game! However Asmodee truly needs to implement a pass N play feature. This is one you'll want to share with your friends and family without the added hassle of multiple devices and internet connections. Seriously an amazing game.

Great Game

This is a great in-depth game that even someone without a lot of time can play because the sessions are limited to a number of rounds per game. My only dislikes are that on a small phone the text is super small, and that even after doing the tutorial and reading the rules I had to search online to clear up some things that were still confusing to me. I really like the game’s concept, though, and look forward to playing more. I like games like this where you can buy them for a fair price and just play without tons of ads or IAPs.

Almost but not quite

You can tell it was a straight copy of the code from another platform, e.g. you can’t “scroll over the cards” on the iPad as you can the desktop as the tutorial tells you to If you tap a card to read its abilities, there is no apparent way to cancel your choice. There is a confirm button, but no cancel. I assume on the desktop app, you would hit the esc key, but that doesn’t work on the iPad. If they actually re-wrote it for this platform, to use the proper interface elements and thoughtfully work out an UI for touch, I will update this.

Interesting game but needs work

Nice and quick game marred by poor execution. Points don't seem to be calculating correctly and the interface is very clunky.

Missed Opportunity

This game felt great initially and has tons of potential. However after a few plays the game shows its flaws. It’s very easy to accidentally place cards, but more importantly there are no notifications when it’s your turn in a game. On top of that, games time out and lose connection if you wait to long to play your turn, meaning you may go in to play your turn and the game just isn’t there any longer. Additionally you need to log in with a password nearly every time opening the app. I want to love this game, but will not be playing unless an update is released addressing some of these issues. Afterwards I will happily amend my review.

Unique but needs work

This game is pretty awesome and has great potential! Just a few recommendations will get my 5 star. No app notifications when it’s your turn to play. It’s also very easy to place cards accidentally ruining your turn. Lastly, in game chat would be nice. The game itself is simple yet challenging it just needs a few tweaks.
