How to play:
All rule sets are based on a common idea: surround your opponent's Butterfly piece before he surrounds yours. Think of a Butterfly like a King in Chess that is captured when it has pieces all around it.
In your turn you can either put a new piece in the board or move one of your existing ones. New pieces can only enter in contact with your own pieces.
You have a limited quantity of pieces, and they all move differently, so you have to think very carefully your move in order to use them wisely and outsmart your opponent!
Finally, but most important of all: all pieces in the game should make one big group at all times, regardless of their owner. This rule can be used at your advantage to "block" your enemy's pieces and prevent them from moving.
Rule sets vary the amount of pieces players have and the way they move.

A long awaited return!

I bought Hanto a long time ago and loved it since then. With its simple rules and addictive gameplay, Hanto caught me after playing just a few matches. When I lost my copy it had already disappeared from the store. Now that it's back I couldn't wait to download it and try this new version! This time I knew how to play from the very first match, but for the newcomers there are two great additions: the 'levels' system that lets you progressively learn the game and refine your strategy (though you can manually unlock all levels if you're a master already) and a handy banner that reminds you how each piece moves when you pick it up. Overall the game is excellent, it kept the fine graphics and the relaxing music unchanged. Five stars to the return of a great board game!

Working through the levels really helps with figuring out advanced uses for the pieces, wish it were endorsed by Gen42 but at the same it was probably made by people who just honestly wanted to play Hive on their phones so until the official game comes back more power to 'em I say.

It's great and it's free. Only wish there were some extra themes and option to buy an add-free version. Nevertheless, thank's for creating it.

Like the AI, has a different take on strategy vs. Hive, so it's helping me to become a more well-rounded (and hopefully more formidable) player. I would only suggest streamlining the UI so one doesn't have to manually bring-up one's hand of tiles each time one wishes to play a new tile. Otherwise an excellent implementation.
