+Live Insights keeps track of each student’s work and allows any student to sign into any registered iPad. The app records their progress and educators can go online to access reports, view graphs, and analyze data for individual students or whole classes.
+Live Insights is currently available with apps from Handwriting Without Tears® and Get Set for School®.
Features and benefits for parents and educators:
• Setup and access student data online: Set up your +Live Insights account with one child or an entire classroom, and access reports from any computer.
• Flexible classroom implementation: Students in your class will be able to select their name in the app and start playing on any registered iPad.
• Develop a strategy for more informed instruction: Track student progress and identify problems for individuals or whole class. View charts and graphs, download data, and print reports to share with other educators.
Heard about this on the HWT website. It works great for groups of students. The reports make it easy to see who needs help, and on which letters.
I really wanted to love this app because I love the rest of their products, but the sensitivity needs to be fixed here. My son has a hard time getting the object "picked up" and moving. He's doing the right motions but if you bump the side it makes you start over. Makes it hard when it's only a visual barrier and not a tactile one. He quickly became frustrated so we started using my finger with him guiding it. That worked better, but still had problems. Heck, half the time I can't get it by myself without multiple tries. I can't see how on a classroom scale this would help a teacher at all. There are too many other skills required to get the app to work. You would have kids who failed this task but knew how to form letters. Awesome idea but as it is now it's more if a frustration than a helpful too, completely opposite the handwriting with out tears mission.
The improvements in this version are great for anyone working with a class vs. just a few students. Children really enjoy the activities - it makes learning fun. It's also seamless and easy to use!
Amazing app and perfect for my classroom. You can review each students progress through your HWT log in and don't have to check each ipad to see the problem areas. The app tracks it for you! Easy to use and students love it!
The app allows me to set up the entire classroom on my computer. I can get summary and detailed information about each student's progress without having to see them work on the iPad each time. Works great!
Thoughtless app, spelling errors , non-existent support, no demo mode, no tutorial, the FAQ is only a sales pitch, layers of log ins and passwords for the sole purpose of making you pay for the app- it does not save work or report progress. If you stop for any reason, it begins from the start, doesn't even welcome the returning student. Frustrating and discouraging for parent and child. (I had the same problem as previous review, you have to choose a two character password, that is, if you got that far in their Byzantine set up process.) The company is set up poorly, they sent the code for the app but didn't get paid, problem with credit card, so they just didn't send the rest of the materials. A week later I am wondering where my order is... Had to raise the roof to get someone to take my call-all "in a meeting". No answer for a solid week (so far) on saving work issue, I don't know if it's usual or technical problem. They just do not care. Good concept, miserable execution. They have driven this caring parent to tears.
Initially worked for 3 letters. My son took a break & now I can't get app to work. Super frustrating. Caught in endless loop of opening app, requiring sign in to "wet, dry, try" website (not app - website where I bought the license to use app) and even though I am logged in, app won't recognize it. App won't load. Support FAQ says to contact Apple, not HWT. Frustrated & feels like a waste of $5. Ugh.
