Welcome to the Halo Family.
The Halo Smart Smoke Alarm is the intelligent way to protect your home from fires and carbon monoxide. After you’ve created your Halo account and connected your Halos to the app network, you’ll have access to an array of great, easy-to-use features, including:
ROOM NAMING
Select the rooms for your Halo inside the app. You can check the status of each Halo by room or, in the event of an emergency, the app will alert you of which Halo has detected a problem.
PEACE OF MIND
The Halo app can send notifications to your phone, so you know that your home is safe, wherever you are in the world.
HUSH
If Halo has issued an alarm, you can ‘hush’ the alarm, which will silence Halo until a threat (like excess smoke or carbon monoxide) has reached a critical level.
MANAGE HOMES
If you’ve installed Halo in multiple dwellings, you can check on and maintain the status of each.
TESTING
Run tests to ensure your Halo is working properly.
INSTANT INVITES
Select family or friends from your contacts and issue them access to managing or viewing your Halos within the app.
Some features, including notifications, require a working internet connection and Wi-Fi.

The alarm installation was simple and straightforward. The alarms work well and the app control has been seamless. The first day they were installed some food was burned in the kitchen an I got an instant notification smoke levels were rising. My only suggestion is to simplify the home screen. I have to scroll to view all 6 detectors but that isn't an above average number of alarms. It would be nice to see all at once or have an overall everything is okay (battery/wifi/fire/co).

I purchased at Halo + from Lowe's and the installation was very simple and let me tell you this thing looks amazing. What a great Idea. If I could afford more I would have them all over my house. I would highly recommend the Halo+ the weather feature is one of a kind!

The level of options for configuring the weather alerts was higher than I expected. You can really tailor it to EXACTLY what you want.
Simple App with complicated setup & unnecessary notifications

Setting up the app and adding a smoke alarm takes longer than it should and isn't intuitive. Once you get the smoke alarm added and paired, the app works well. It's simple. However, this app has already sent me my first notification: "It's Friday! Don't forget to test your Halo+ weekly." Don't send me notifications except for emergencies or malfunctions! Annoying. Get rid of the useless notifications and I'll upper the star rating.

7/17/17 UPDATE: To turn OFF weekly notifications go to the app "main menu" then "profile" the header will read "Account information" and look all the way to the bottom and toggle off "Weekly Test Reminders". Cons: can't seem to turn off weekly notifications for testing. Worse than telemarketing phone calls! Pros: easy install and set up. Integrates with existing detectors without having to replace entire system. Placed one with disaster alerts in our master bedroom and considering buying others as gifts if the weekly alerts can be disabled.

Well designed and pleasantly aesthetic app with additional lighting controls to create moods or setup party modes. The main feature is the ability to quickly see the status of and test all your alarms in one place. Setup is simple and uses secure WiFi authentication to ensure steady, secure, and dedicated connection to my home router. Alerts are received by the app in 20-30 seconds; quite quick compared to 40-60 seconds for other home automation equipment I have installed. I’ve completed several tests of all 6 of my detectors manually and electronically by using the app to test remotely and performing smoke tests in the home. I’m currently in a winter storm warning and halo doesn’t even recognize it. I checked to app to make sure that it was on to alarm and it is. Great idea but hasn’t preformed

God help you if you disconnect and then later reconnect to charge the battery. It has the loudest chirp that CANNOT be silenced. It will only silence when it reaches 50% charge. What sadistic person thought that was a good idea? It was so annoying making you jump out of your skin, that I was almost ready to destroy it.
