Habits is the only app that lets you see the full history of all of your habits in an easy to use way. The Habit score represents your full history in a 0-100 score with your current activity counting more than your past. Doing your habit on time and more often increases your score.
Unlike a recurring event in your calendar, a habit doesn't have to be done at an exact time and keeping these items separate means your calendar won't be cluttered.
Whether you're trying to Get Things Done, Sharpen the Saw (from Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) or keep a Seinfeld Calendar (of streaks), Habits is the perfect application for you.
Features:
- The home screen shows a sorted list of habits (in the order you should do them)
- Habits will make sure you get a notification of a habit that needs to be done, even if you aren't running the app (new in 2.0)
- For each habit, get a report on how well you are doing, as well as a calendar view with full history (rotate the phone when looking at a habit)
- Skip a habit, and have Habits remind you the next time you have to do it.
- Pause a habit (for vacations or business trips) and not have it count against you.
- Keeps track of your longest and current streak
- Get Help within the application.
Alright app. Can't view a calendar view so you really analyze habit history. No way to undo an accidental check of a habit.
This GTD app is really simple to use. There's also a help section to give some good examples of how you might use some of the commands. For example, you can Pause a habit if you are going on a business trip and know you can't do something, but don't want it to count against your stats.
It's a nice little App. I can see where the developer was heading and I applaud his efforts. Where it falls short is you can't set anything up for more than once a day. If you need to do something more than once a day you're stuck. I would really appreciate an update that would allow users to set things up for more than once a day and maybe even set a time!
Love this app! Very useful for keeping regular activities off my calendar and to-do list. One suggestion- would like the options of "every morning" and "every evening". Highly recommended.
Within the first minute of downloading Habits I was able to easily set up several activities and reminders. I will be relying on Habits to adhere to my list of New Years' resolutions and can recommend this app to anyone else with similar goals.
Great idea. Just needs a couple more features like more options for how frequently an item needs to be done (e.g., every morning or evening). Also needs a little sprucing to make the interface look a little sharper. Overall, a great app.
Absolutely love this app-- has helped me a lot with my daily todos. Could use a couple of things here and there that I hope the author works on but I'm not picky
Habits looks simple but I've found it very useful. The best features are that you do not need to fix specific dates, just number of times a week etc if you like. So much more flexible. I also like that it calculates and shows the success rate (percentage). However, while using the app I still find myself missing certain features, such as: 1. The ability to jot down a note or journal. For instance, I created a habit to be more patient. On days when I felt I've failed in this, it would be helpful if I can enter a note to detail how I've failed that day. 2. Password protect would be nice. I'm a very private person but the iPhone is a very popular phone that my friends are always borrowing to play with :-p
I really like this app to keep me honest on things I need to do that don't have a specific due date and to avoid cluttering my todo list. I agree that the UI could be dressed up a bit but most of all I wish the app displayed a badge of the items that should be done now. hopefully the app will be continually updated. Thanks!
Habits is unlike any other GTD. Where other GTDs focus on single tasks, Habits takes care of your all round ability to live your life. The app is very simple and has a very functional UI. If you want to get yourself to go to the gym every alternate day, or clear our junk files every week, Habits will get you to do it. 4 Stars because I have a minor issues with UI decisions. Recommended.
