Still needs work

I don't know if it's just my personal experience, but even with the few MOOC sites that this app does have has problems with being up to date. I've had tons of classes (including one starting THIS week) that just doesn't seem to exist in the app at all even though the course site is one of the places this app keeps track of. I'm starting to think I'd have a better time keeping track on an excel spreadsheet than this app (especially since some of the classes I signed up for future versions of are now in the "past classes" section even though I still have yet to take them, and there's no way to remove them)

Wonderful app

Wonderful app, a really great help when you have to manage several MOOCs and the calendar function is really convenient, showing you the hour load for every week.

Great Idea. Mediocre Execution.

So, if you’re like me, you’ve discovered that most MOOC’s don’t provide the same amount of depth as a traditional college course. In order to fill in the gaps, it’s smart to find related courses (for example, taking the Data Science AND Data Mining specializations on Coursera). This is great, but the more courses you add, the harder it is to keep track of quizzes and assignment deadlines. Enter GroupMooc. The basic idea behind this is that you can see your estimated course workload, and it definitely succeeds at that point. But beyond that, I don’t really see the value. For starters, you have to input your own due dates once you’ve added your courses. What’s the point of interfacing with the MOOC providers if the only information available is course start and end dates and estimated workload? This isn’t a deal breaker, since most MOOCs provide a calendar that you can then export to your favorite calendar app, but if you’re going to do that, then why do you need GroupMOOC? The next issue is if there are discrepancies between the course description on the MOOC site and what GroupMOOC was able to download. For example, The Science of Happiness course on edX is now a self-study course. However, GroupMooc only shows it as being a traditional course, and if you add the traditional course with an earlier start date, it then shows up under the menu “past courses”. From there, you can’t remove the course, or modify it to say that it’s a self-study course. Some more leeway for editing courses would be nice. The other weird thing is that the calendar format is Saturday-Friday, with no option to change it. This is weird because most Coursera courses run Monday-Sunday, and most calendars default to Sunday-Saturday. Why this would be the calendar standard, with no option to change it, is weird. Thankfully, the app appears to be free of bugs. I get an error when I try to export to my calendar app, but that might be because there are no due dates for any of the courses. All in all, it’s a solid effort, but there’s still some work to be done to make this more useful than your calendar app and an Excel spreadsheet.

Would be awesome if it worked

Can't find my classes on the app, and can't customize start date. Basically right now I can't use the app, although I'd love to.

Love it!

Was hoping someone word make an app like this :)

Would Love This App, Except Courses Are Outdated and not even from 2015 yet

abc123g

I started using GroupMOOC last night but unfortunately the course listings are terribly out of date, for Coursera and edX at least. I could not find one of my courses in the year 2015 even, only past ones from 2013 and 2014. If possible please try to update your courses, otherwise your app isn't nearly as good as it could be.

Ok, well...

Why not implement a feature where you can "log into" the different websites and it grabs all of your courses automatically?

Nice to have

I'm enjoying this app. It seems like problems from older reviews have been fixed. I found my courses easily and I like how everything is displayed.

Has bugs. Can't add a course

Rucumun

I just tried to create my first course. Great UI but does not find my course in coursera and the options for dates are all in the past. Please fix it. Seems like this app was not tested well before public release.

Impossible to use

A single search takes more than 1 min. Looking for a given course took me forever...
