You've plenty of units to play with, covering land, sea and airborne combat. Be warned though, these funny cartoon troops are not exactly "the right stuff".
Playing as "Jenkins", the hard done to lieutenant, you will need to complete the Generalissimo's wide variety of mission orders - collect resources, assassinate enemy generals, invade territory, evacuate your forces, do a bit of enemy base ownage, etc.

They still sell this as a part of a bundle but it doesn’t work on iOS 11 (I’m using a 5thgen iPad)

I would give this 5 stars but the limit is one of my fav games great time killer to but I accidentally deleted it and bought all the map packs and when I re down load it it crashes

Ok, If I could do 1000 stars I would. This IS my favorite game on the App Store. Great Game. Thank you Rubicon for the best game ever. I'm not even kidding. I have beaten the whole story mode 3 times. Endless fun. Love pass and play. I play with my brother all the time. Best 10$ spent on the App Store (yes I got the Downloadable content). I love skirmish. I have only two suggestions: make Air Force less over powered, and have difficulty settings for skirmish. Those are my only complaints. I have some update ideas though but note, these are not negatives. They are just ideas. 1. More than two teams 2. Planes 3.bombs 4. More skirmish maps 5. Anything, I have faith in Rubicon. Whatever updates happen will be cool. If you don't have Great Big War Game yet, what are you doing with your life?!?! Get it and all the DLC. (Love the medic and flamethrower by the way!) Best game ever. Unlimited stars. GET IT NOW!

I just love them game in general, but by the fact that to play certain apps, you have to pay and I don't want to.
An excellent strategy game with a great amount of content

I was in search of a war strategy game and stumbled upon this gem. I'm a big Advance Wars fan and was pleased to find this game was inspired by the series. I haven't played the other games in the Great Little War franchise, but I may be keen to after this. The game can be challenging sometimes even on normal mode where you really need to put your brain to work. Having to work around the fog of war took some time to get used to but is no obstacle once you properly learn to use scout units. All the units in general seem very useful in some way and balanced for the most part. One complaint I have is not having enough stars to level all your units fully. Along with this, you always get three stars whenever you complete a level no matter what. I wish it rewarded you with more stars based on how well you performed in combat. All in all, solid game. Would definitely recommend to strategy enthusiasts!

I own all the maps, but for naval warfare, there should be an update for an aircraft carrier(transport and fly/land choppers on it) and submarines(dive under water and take ships out/launch missiles too) and destroyers should be able to drop depth charges(on the submarines)...just although(WOULD BE AWESOME IF HAPPENED) and many be able to customize your own maps(make your own)...maybe at least add a battleship
