OUTSTANDING! Easily one of the BEST strategy games on the App Store!

[twentyONE]

Another GREAT strategy game from the Slitherine team! This is a full blown PC/console port for a mere fraction of the price and is BY FAR one of the best and most unique games on the App Store! It stands next to any and all of the better strategy games on iOS and is polished and well presented with very smooth gameplay. The controls work flawlessly, the AI is hard as hell, the music is great and the visuals are nice. Many, many hours of challenge and replay with 2 different campaigns and a skirmish mode.....HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Very nicely done.

Slitherine creates great games and this one is very engaging and fun to play. Glad to see them continue to develop iPad games.

Excellent RTS (hybrid) on the ipad

This is a great port of the PC/console game (which I've owned on the Xbox 360 for years). It's a medieval RTS game, but when you select units to move it pauses the action, which is quite helpful on the ipad. Highly recommended it your interested in controlling armies. You can controll as many as 16 squads, so all of the action can be pretty crazy but it's great to see of this action with NO slow down on the Ipad 2. :) Also, you can replay battles to get more gold, so the Gold IAP is not needed if you put the time into the game. The only critizism is sometimes the path finding is wonky. For strategy fans, RTS fans and/or medieval fans this is a must own (especially for 5 bucks).

Good port

This is a great strategy game on the iOS. If your a fan of total war style games get this.

Awesome, but

This is cool and highly recommended although musket man are glitched. When they fire at a target, they point there guns up at the sky and you can see the bullets go to the right or left, not the target. I also think it would be more realistic if when a soldier dies, it just lays dead on the battlefield for the rest of the battle. Giving troops orders can also be confusing since you want to select a troop but the troop you just selected thinks you want them to go to the troops you wanted to select. The cross bow man also look like they shoot themselfs when they fire since they hold the cross bow backwards.Still a great game though. Crashes once in a while on iPad 2

Is it just me?

I have just started playing the game but I order troops to move and they just sit there. Is there supposed to be a lag? Is there a manual or our we to learn through trial and error? I am a big fan of Slitherine games but so far the game is very frustrating. Will come back and change the rating (or not!) after I have played it some more. (Bring on Panzer Corps!)

Gameplay

Good graphics quality but It Paused too many times to set up troops

Fair. Some clunkiness in the interface, and there seems to be no way to change your mind in some skill decisions short of reloading from a saved game. There is also some goofiness in how your units get from here to there and, if you're not careful, they'll stand around on you. But it's okay.

Spend money to spend more money

I love paying for a game and finding out you need to pay more money just so you can even attempt the campaign. Wish I could get my money back.

Keeps crashing

The return button in bottom right hand corner keeps disappearing so you become stuck and can't do anything. Please fix this bug for a better review.
