This IS the GPS app you're looking for..

I looked at a lot of GPS apps and wasted money on several too limited to be useful. I wanted a tool for planning, mapping, and tracking kayak trips on rivers and waterways and this works perfectly. I lay out my route on the iPad (bigger screen) sync that to iPhone, then Tracks guides us down the route. Blazing new trails? Open map, hit start and Tracks maps your path giving course, speed, elevation, coordinates etc. with or without cell service. Very sensitive and accurate. It will get you where you want to go and safely back again. On 5s I can let it run with occasional checking on location and camera use and get a good 6hrs run time on a full battery. Feature rich, it takes a little time to learn all it can do but well worth the investment. If you need an off-road GPS tool, this is it!

Greatly Improved!

I started using this app several years ago and it drained my battery in no time. Now I this version with my Bad Elf GPS Pro and I can track for hours and have plenty of power left in the battery for other apps and activities. Thank you so much for the improvements!

Great app.

Seems to work very well with many useful features. I purchased a grouping of fishing waypoints. They are easy to navigate to and so far productive. I'd recommend it.

Excellent for geotagging photos

I've been using this app for a while when I go out on photowalks, to geotag my photos in Lightroom afterwards. I particularly like that it can save the gpx track directly to Dropbox, so when I get to my computer I can just load it in Lightroom without having to export it from my phone first. I'm also impressed by how little battery it uses; I went out on a two hour walk last weekend and it used less than 10% of my battery, even at the maximum accuracy setting.

Solid app with even better support

The Core Affect

Purchased this app a week ago, had a problem, and the developer was responsive and completely solved my issue. I have tried most of the top tier GPS apps for both iOS and Mac, and this one (and its Mac companion app) are close to being the best. With that said, there is room for improvement. Here is what I would like to see in future versions: - Be able to assign notes to tracks, not just waypoints. - Be able to add photos to a track, not just waypoints. That way the photos themselves turn into waypoints (see Gaia GPS on iOS or MyTracks on Mac). As it currently works, if I am on a hike I have to make a waypoint AND take a pictures just to capture the photo for that given location. - Do not change the date of a waypoint after I modify it. I would like to have the original dates preserved regardless if I rename the waypoint or change the color because the dates have significance. Since the dates get changed with any modification, I still have to use another GPS app for waypoint management. - Give option to remove the start and stop pins associated with tracks on the map. The map gets very cluttered this way. - Thin the tracks on the map for better visual articulation of the track. - Add the ability to create folders for the tracks for better organization. - Be able to quickly see how many tracks are in app and/or how many are stored in iCloud. - Better import functionality of waypoints. Currently, the elevation of waypoints is lost when they are imported into the app. - Create a trash bin to recover a deleted track or waypoint. - Finally, I would love to see a 'bulk' delete, export, or edit feature. Right now, you have to edit, delete, or export a single track at a time. I know this is a long list of requests and suggestions, but given how well the data sync with the iCloud and to my Mac, I want to see this app get even better!

What happened?

I used to be able to type in coordinates and now when I type them in, it just goes to the nearest city.

Works flawlessly

I recently used this on an overseas trip to record my location and then match it up with my photos in Lightroom. It worked like a champ!

Great

Amazing app!

Everything I'm looking for in a GPS logger! The export capabilities set it above all others! Money well spent!
