No extended monitor for Mac

YouTube videos assured me I would have an extended monitor with a Mac and that wasn't the case. This is after playing with the settings of course.
Causes System Preferences on my Mac to Crash

When I try to use My iPad to extend my desktop (I.e., not mirroring), It causes System Preferences to crash when trying to arrange the displays. My Mac is running MacOS Sierra 10.2.2.
Does what it says it does but some reservations

My main reservation is the fact that it messes up the settings on my Mac Mini. I already have two regular monitors, and wanted a third so that my work email can always be visible. But when I run the app and plug in my iPad, it flips monitors 1 and 2, so I have to change the settings every time I start the DesktopSTreamer program, which is needed for the app to work. Other than that I have no serious complaints, but definitely not 5 stars for that reason.
