Loved the first game MORE

I wish they would just create more castles in the first game. This version is frustrating 1. If you mine, you have to sell each piece to get gems - should have an option to sell all ore for gems etc. 2. The first game you could upgrade your weapons while game was paused so you could really strategise - need that option for this game. 3. The weapon 'upgrade button' overlaps the 'start round' button - so frustrating to start the level before you're ready !!! 4. There are lags or the freeze & bombs don't always work the first time you press them ... Thereby losing rounds unnecessarily. 5. Game periodically Freezes 6. Pay - Upgrading some of the other characters is so disappointing with their maximum skill sets. Overall, I think the game has a lot of great upgrades, graphics, levels, and ideas, but I get too frustrated and find myself playing the older version more often because of these issues.

The sequel is never quite as good as the original.

The original Goblin Defenders game is probably in my top-10 favorite games to play. But, oh how far they have fallen from the tree with this sequel. In trying to build a more complex game, they only created a bigger mess. The controls are clumsy. Tapping on the screen can mean three or four different things at any time, and good luck guessing which one the game is going to pick. It takes laser-like precision to hit just the right spot sometimes to make something work, and the only way to figure it out is through trial and error. Then, just when you think you are about to win, the entire game crashes! The most recent update allows you to play with two heroes at once. A really nice idea, if only they could make the controls more usable. In reality, it just makes the game less playable. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve called in an air-strike only to see one of my heroes running far, far away from where I wanted them. Also, be prepared for this game to spam all your friends on Facebook every single time you play it. The game wants to post to Facebook all the time. And if you refuse to log in, it will annoy the heck out of you about logging in every time you try to do anything. It even tells you that if you don’t log in to FB, you won’t be allowed to save your game progress. I broke down and purchased one of the add-on heroes. I have a feeling that without it, I never would have made it to the end of the game. Even with all your stats maxed out, I think that you pretty much have to spend money to win the game. The arena fights were interesting for a while, but got boring. They are way too short, and once you get them down, it’s pretty hard to loose. In conclusion, this game really let me down. I wanted to see so much more after GD 1, but this new release could not deliver. I gave it 2 stars because it did deliver a little bit of fun for a while, but it wasn’t worth the money I spent on it.
