Nice reference for Kyu levelplayers

Breach21

This app now has a much broader set of joseki and enough commentary in English to help a mid level player advance.

Great app, and an amazing reference!

The app prompts me to review the app every single time I launch it. I'd give it five stars if not for that.

Joseki Dictionary is SO useful!

CarlMac2

It is great as a learning tool, and also as a quick reference for Joseki. Seeing a Joseki step by step is much more effective than looking at a finished one in the page of a book. The annotations at (almost) every move, explain the moves & give a greater understanding of the Joseki. It's handy on the iPhone but even better on the iPad.

joseki

omikron85

slow to load, seems to crash on tenuki (play elsewhere) variations, annoyingly persistent popup demands to rate the app, which is the only reason I'm writing this. Nevertheless may be the best currently available joseki app.

Demo is one joseki

That's it. The 4x4. And really, the moves are just linked to a text box. You pay $4.99 for a full version that might have the other starting stone locations, but that's a lot for what the demo gives. It would be different if you got a little play time or something, but it's just rote learning. It's flash cards.

Very few variations

Moneystone

Very few variations are covered. Not worthy the money.

A serious bug

Harald Han

A good collection of Joseki and quite an extensive coverage of variations but it's really annoying to see that the grids previously occupied by removed stones are not properly rendered.

Just covers Hoshi

The demo just covers the 4-4 star point. However, it does provide a good variety for that one opening. Does not provide enough info about why a given sequence is or is not joseki, leaving you to figure it out on your own, which has improved my own game, but leaves me somewhat confused on some of the more complicated sequences. All in all I'd call it a wash, three stars.
