Simply add a few melody notes, and Genius Songwriter will write a chord sequence for you.
And it's not random either - Genius Songwriter uses a system called the Rebirth Generator™ to decide which chords to choose.
Rebirth Generator™ is an algorithm devised and coded over a two-year period by renowned UK musician Carl Hudson, and finally brought to life here in this app.
Genius Songwriter contains an ever-growing library of over 300 Pop, Soul, Rock and Jazz songs, which it analyses to make intelligent (and often oblique) chord choices.
And at the tap of a button, the score is played back with lovingly sampled Rhodes and Moog Voyager sounds.
Unlike other music apps available on the iOS platform, Genius Songwriter displays the chords using conventional notation - notes on a stave, with accurate chord names too. And at the tap of a button, you can switch between different chord voicings.
And whilst the algorithm creates interesting harmonies, you're not limited to the chords that Genius Songwriter chooses for you - at the click of a button you can select any chord you like - from rudimentary chords to advanced jazz harmony.
And when you're finished, simply swipe the screen to the right and a snapshot of your song is saved to the camera roll - ready for emailing, printing and playing live!
