So to have an LGBTQ friendly social media i have to actually have spare money? Some (actually a majority of) people aren’t wealthy enough to have an extra expense

Amazing app.

So needed

It's amazing that an app like this hasn't been already created. I think it's great to have a safe space for the lgbt community to share art, events, and ideas. Nice work!!

Subscription based
midnafanatic

This app is not free. This app is not even reasonably priced. It's a subscription based service, so you have to pay $5 every month or $30 every year to even sign up. There isn't even any way to see what the app is like before you buy. You're betting on people being there when you buy, but who knows if they'll be there and who knows if they're people you want to be around. I could justify $5 one time. I might even be able to justify $30 one time. But I can't justify a subscription. I can't guarantee I'll have $5 extra every month. Trans and gender nonconforming people experience more financial problems than the average person. Transition is expensive, new clothing is expensive, hormones are expensive, surgery is expensive, losing your job and being unable to find a new one is expensive. That's not even taking into account that many many of the trans people looking for an online community are very young and don't have parental support or any income. Because of the subscription based service, I also doubt many people are going to be on there. Even if they can afford it, it's prohibitive. If there were no ongoing charges they may have more trolls, but they'd at least have more people. With the rarity of people like us, is it really wise and realistic to exclude anyone who lives paycheck to paycheck or without consistent income? I think this is a way to extort money out of an already vulnerable subset of the population.

lol f this rich gay yuppie app
Hate Men, Love Cats

F y'all for not making this free. LGBTQ people are some of the poorest people, and you charging us? Lol all the 5 star reviews are gonna be for people who can afford the app.

Agree with Midnafanatic.

They're completely right.

Didn't even live up to low expectations

When I first heard about this app I was excited; finally a place for me!! And then I read on to find it was subscription based and lost all hope. BUT I decided that I would pay $5 for the first month, and see if /maybe/ it was worth it at all. And its not. Firstly, the subscription model is the app's first failure and ultimate downfall, because a community requires a community base. Making it a gated community (even moreso, a gated community that can't even be glimpsed from outside) destroys any chance of it ever building up a userbase. The community is the product, and there is no product if you shut out the community! For everyone who doesn't have $5 to spend on a whim, I'm going to describe exactly what this app has and what it lacks: First, as of July 16, 2016, the app has only 256 members globally. They don't really want to tell you that, because its abysmal. Now, 1) It has a feed with all kinds of posts from users that the app decided might have something in common with you, based on ten different interests to choose from when you sign up. This features liking and commenting on text posts, photos, and articles (so far that I've seen). 2) It has a search tab that looks a lot like tumblr's, with predesignated tags that you can look through, a list of "top members", and the ability to search keywords as they appear in posts. Doesn't appear to have any filters (like filtering posts by location) or any way to search for users vs keywords. 3) A tab to view your own profile, with all the normal profile things you might expect, including an activity feed. (You can change your name from the edit icon here) 4) A tab that just brings you to the "add a post" screen. You can add predesignated tags and photos. Not sure how to add articles. 5) From another user's profile you can follow them, see their activity, and send them a message. Not sure where messages go, since theres no tab for them and I haven't tried. (text and images are supported) THAT'S IT. This was hyped as some kind of great new community and dating thing, but there is no way to view users by location to see who might be available to meet, and no "list of events" or calendar feature to organize events. Despite putting your location on your profile, there doesn't seem to be any location-based features at all. The content might have been redeeming, since it seems to have a lot of influential people posting nonbinary-relevant content, but because nothing can be seen by non-subscribers it's wasted. TL;DR This app has very minimal functionality, and is so gated, that its inevitable going to be a failure. I just turn to the development team, and ask WHY. This is honestly such a waste.

Great start!

Really nice app that allows you to follow others in the community, meet new people, and read interesting articles/posts. Can't wait to see how this app grows as more and more members of the community sign up. Keep going!

The idea is nice

The layout is extremely confusing. A tutorial for apps is generally unnecessary, but it would be very helpful here. The only way to find people similar is to choose from a pool of 10 topics. One of them is education if that gives you an idea. I see many faces, but I don't see anyone active on my feed. Also there's no ages on profiles. I wouldn't pay $5 a month in all honesty, but I do give starts for having the right intentions. It just takes a lot to long this type of app, and it will be a pain when your charging a group of people that make up about 1% of the population, and are usually facing issues related to their gender that make it impossible to pay $5 a month for an app with no one on it.
