Who wrote this trash?!?!

This app is utter garbage. I was traveling last week to Colorado. Despite having access to my location all the time, today it gave me multiple flash flood warnings and tornado warnings, aka seek shelter immediately and watch out for flying cows. Helpful if I was still there, but I’m not. I’m in Seward, AK. I’ve been back in Alaska since Friday, It’s Monday as I gleefully write this review. I don’t know if this awfulness is the app or GCI’s craptacular service. Either way, do yourself a favor. Pay attention to those around you who have an actual phone company like AT&T or Verizon. If their phone blows up with FEMA tones, check the weather or start looking for Amber Alert kids, because this app certainly won’t be the one to let you know.

Makes YOU look for the Alerts

What a waste of time and effort this app is. After I heard all the AT&T phones in the office buzzing with the test Presidential Alert visible on the lock screen I went back to my desk & checked my phone. No alert. Went & searches out the App, no badge or visual notification. Opened the app, found the alert message inside and had to go read it like checking an email. That's not an alert, GCI. I checked the permissions for the app and everything was set up right for notifications with banners & it's all you, GCI. Dump the app & let the alerts work like they're designed to, coming across as a text notification. If the next monthly alert test doesn't come through as a banner notification on my iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 12, I'll be switching carriers.

Waste!!
Not worth the space ??

Wow! This app is a waste of room on my phone and all in all just a waste!! Alaska was hit with a 7.2 earthquake this morning with a possible tsunami (November 30 2018) and that is the main reason I even installed this app was to notify me with emergency alerts but it didn’t even go off and when I went to the app it had “no alert” I call BS on this wasteful app. I luckily had another app which notified me right away so this app is being deleted. Also GCI didn’t send any alert message at all which other phone companies had sent out emergency alert messages pretty sad GCI get your act together!! If there was no other apps to notify us and besides the world wide (Alaska tsunami alarm) they test monthly not sure what would happen here. ?‍♀️

Probably a useless app - glad it’s free

I installed the app, opened it to set up, and can’t get it to stay open long enough to set it up! It shuts down about 5 seconds after I open it. I’m unable to even set alert notifications. Will uninstall. Bummer - after Code Red didn’t work following the 7.9 Kodiak quake this morning, I wanted a reliable app to notify me of dangerous situations, but this is not it!
