Seems a little simple at first, but I'm still getting the hang of it. As always, a way to mute ALL sounds would be nice so listening to music or podcasts isn't so annoying.
This game reminds me of a old nintendo game and watch or tiger LCD game, takes a bit to get used to but looks like it could be as fun as tower of fortune. Give it a try especially for the price.
Be micro intensive, have quick fingers, and be ready for the fast pace game. Gargoyle Ruins is a fast paced, enjoyable iOS game that has a lot of depth to it. Certainty harder and different than GameStews first 2 games, it provides a different spice to the cauldron. Definitely recommend buying, but be aware that you may have moments of annoyance. Hint: timing is everything to this game! Enjoy!
It's an obvious homage but it falls apart with how incredibly hard it is to get upgrades and how much in game money costs in real life. If you just earned more per mission it'd be worth playing but as it is now, it's a treadmill with too tiny a carrot on a stick.
Boring "game and watch" style gameplay with RPGs elements. Gameplay is not very intuitive. Do not buy unless you really miss games in the style of old tiger electronic style handhelds.
Many of the negative reviews are right: this is a play-and-watch game, and it is hard! For me, that's great. I've been bored to death by easy pay-to-play games swamping the App Store, and this game has great style and unique gameplay. Half the game is figuring out how to play: buttons do different things depending on where you are in which game. The upgrades don't just make you stronger, like in many games; they change the way the game is played, creating new enemies, opening new stages, and even changing the story. If you want something to play in your spare minutes over a month or two, this is it. If you want to play or pay your way to quickly grabbing the upgrades so you can move on to the next app, stay away.
It's really fun but its also extremely difficult I can barely get past 1-2. Hope they change the difficulty and bring it down a notch. Update: After the update I can honestly say its a joy to play now, especially after the control fix.
