Versatile and intuitive

NostalgiaHound

I’ve migrated through four other game apps before Gameye. It’s pretty expansive in its library of consoles, handhelds and computers. If a game is missing it is pretty easy to use the online portal to add content. If a console or variant is missing its less clear how to add - small overall detraction. The app has gone through regular updates in my two years using it, and improvements have refined it immensely. A great app for tracking your many libraries, wishlists and such.

Nice

Avid3gsfan

This app is nicely optimized for game collecting. I probably could think of an enhancement or two, but being able to scan games and have it organized is just what I needed, and it’s fun to see the game value report. Really great app.

Good so far

Haven’t tried too many apps for my collection

Must have for collectors, but it’s not perfect

HearItOnTheSpoofy

Let’s start with the positives. The app is super easy to use. Everything is laid out very well and the menus are self explanatory. This is very important to note as many competing apps tend to value user interface over user experience, which is common. Not the case here. The developers chose to focus on the experience and ease of use, with mostly successful results. Even adding games manually is an easy process thanks to some clever filtering options. The barcode scanner is quick and accurate and worked well on all my disc based games. This being said, I collect for Nintendo consoles and handhelds only, so ymmv. It’s really easy to backup a copy of your collection to text, excel, or as a file for the app to be restored later, or on a different device. It’s nice that an estimated value is provided, but since condition is not taken into consideration outside of loose, cib, and new, you’re often left with quite a discrepancy if your retro titles are in good condition. That’s understandable though, you can only get so close with estimates. Not sure how a dev would factor something like cart label condition into a price estimate. It’s not all butterflys and rainbows though. The cart label scanner didn’t work most of the times I tried it. Several common NES, GB, and SNES games with great labels were not identified correctly. I really like the idea here, it just doesn’t work in execution. Update: I’ve gotten a new phone, and this feature seems to be a bit better. I always suspected my Note 5 camera was borked. It made a horrible grinding noise sometimes. Freaked me out. The last thing of note is that browsing through your library isn’t particularly interesting or anything. It’s a nice checklist, handy to keep with while you’re at a trade show or flea market. However, I’d also like to see something akin to RCB in Kodi. You could load the app on your iPad, have that in your game room, and then guests could browse the collection while sitting on the couch! (Thanks for the reply!)

Great for US Releases

Marine Bio Bryan

But not if you have imported games. Also, many Japanese versions of games released in the US are not present in the database at all. Adding to the database itself is an extremely clunky process. I actually got to the point that I didn’t want to bother after a while. And since I’m not getting the $ value for my imported games, I stopped entering them into the database altogether.

Best tracker to date

Raw_1980

I am so happy I found an app for my collection.

Fantastic

CPCTC Clown

Better support/ more useful updates than most paid apps. I appreciate the passion and clever design of this app. Thanks for creating this.

The best game cataloguing application

Evan1981

Top notch app with top notch developer support. Honestly, what more can you ask for?

Collector’s Dream App

Tr011_B0T

Includes historical information, current market prices, thumbnail picture, completionist tags, categorical sections, and even a tab for toys to life (perfect for amiibo collectors). A+++ in my book as a fellow collector.

So far the best I’ve tried

Jeanfrancoh

I have tried other apps in the store to track my game collection and this one is the best by far. I haven’t used the barcode batch mode but the manual mode works fine, I also haven’t been prompted to pay anything regardless of amount of input.
