A Total Blast

Reminds me of Kingdom Rush. Give it a try, you'll like it.

Great entry in a genre that's been done to death
davidbrit2

I've no doubt there are untold heaps of tower defense games for iOS that I haven't even heard of, but in a heavily saturated genre, Galaxy Dwellers holds up very well. As some have noted, it has similarities to Kingdom Rush. You build bases to deploy soldiers, and you can upgrade these bases to increase the number of soldiers. You also can have a "hero" on the battlefield, with substantial combat capability, and which provides benefits to other nearby units. Where things get rather unique is in the unit upgrade system. Each location for building a base also has one or more support building locations next to it (and in turn, these support building locations may be connected to more than one base location). Build a melee unit support next to a base, and that base's soldiers turn into melee type. Build ranged, and they become ranged. But if you build multiple support buildings, and mix and match their types, you can end up with some very different units. Three melee buildings will give a totally different result from, say, two melee buildings and one ranged. The support buildings themselves can also be upgraded up to three times, providing stat boosts for soldiers from the connected bases. There are three races to play, each with its own upgrade tree, and one tree of shared upgrades. The lack of in-app-purchases means the game is actually properly balanced, and doesn't depend on cajoling you into spending money. If you've got room in your life for another tower defense game, Galaxy Dwellers is definitely worth a look.

Amazing, one of the best.

So many TD games, so very few that are really special lately. This one is special. Very fun, very deep, very well done. Don't miss out on this one.

Don't listen to the naysayer!
Ooseabe

This is a great tower defense game. Each level has its own challenge, and it's up to you to learn and understand how the different tower combinations work. The reason you can't reset your skills is because you can play each level again and again. The first game had a set number of skill points available to play with. This game allows for grinding, and in turn, gives players plenty of practice. Don't listen to the negative nancy! This is a refreshing and enjoyable tower defense game in a genre that can easily miss the mark!

Don't Waste Your Money; Beware Fake Reviews
Starman6

Update: Too bad the Devs would rather respond to my negative review in the form of a fake 5 star review by Ooseabe rather than make the effort to improve the game. It confirms my belief that they're more interested in rushing out a half baked, poorly balanced and implemented game just for the sake of making a quick buck. Original review: I really enjoyed the free Game by the same Devs called Tower Dwellers so I took the plunge and shelled out for this paid game. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bait and switch trick as this game is a very different animal. The difficulty level in this game ramps up quickly and unevenly. Planet Circula is much more difficult than the planet that follows, for example. A large number of fast moving, stronger enemy is thrown at your weak defenses right from the beginning and you start most levels with not enough coin. The strength level of the towers and the Hero are much lower than the enemy being faced. They do much more damage than you do right from the start! Don't even bother getting the ranged tower as it is so weak and does so little damage that it's just not worth the money. A feature which the free game has that I would like to see here is the ability to reset upgrades you buy in the research center. (By the way, this is how you spell "Research", you idiots.) And, I'm sorry but I don't buy the reason you give in your fake "review" for not doing this. I do like their unique approach of being able to combine different towers to create specialized defenses. And, it's refreshing to be able to just buy a game outright without being continually harangued to buy IAPs or watch videos. I hope the Devs find the right balance between a challenge versus too much grinding but I'm not going to hold my breath. I should have just stuck with the free game as it is a far more balanced and enjoyable and I still highly recommend it over this one.
