Fun, but need to reward exercise!

RobertCK

The gameplay was great. I love Arkanoid, so I was immediately happy with the game (and it worked well on an iPhone). In terms of connecting the game to the physical activity, I thought maybe that should be reframed. As I watched my energy bar deplete, I felt a bit of anxiety, like my phone was about to die or the fun was going to end at any moment. What if you were free to play the game whenever, but exercising would earn power-ups, new spacesuits and new spaceships? As the game is structured now, exercise is a requirement instead of being something that is rewarded.

Addictive gameplay that motivates

The most unique aspect to this app is not the game itself (which is a brickbreaker style arcade game) but instead the overall concept behind it – players have to run or walk with their iPhone in order to earn energy that then gets drained while they are playing in the app. So the app requires you to leave it to go exercise in order to come back and continue playing. Most apps don’t want you to ever leave so this is definitely different. And for me, it was a good reminder to get up and walk around. I think it would work well to motivate kids too – they are always sitting on the couch and staring at their phones, so at least this way they will be more active every so often. The game could be improved if there were better rewards for collecting more gems, but overall I think it’s a fantastic concept.

Kids + games + fitness = excellent

Great game play with a purpose. All games should be designed with an interactive component to encourage movement. Well done.

Unique spin on exercise motivation

Really love the concept of this game - the more exercise you do, the more games you get the play. Love it. I like that it's something different from other fitness tracker apps out there. I like that I get something from my physcial activity during the day (play more games), instead of just seeing my step count. It actually makes me want to walk more throughout the day so that I can play more games. Would like to see more physical activities be able to be counted for points in the game - add in ability to record swimming, biking, exercise classes, etc. But overall, a fun game and an interesting and fun way to motivate physical activity.

Intriguing new way to play games

The concept behind this game is wonderful. If I had anything I would add it would be a variety of games. The same game over and over again can be repetitive but it is an overall fun and gratifying experience

I love the idea, but not the execution

The concept of getting kids to exercise in order to play a video game is a great idea and I hope you can develop this app further. There wasn't much explanation or information on the game after you launch it so it took me a while to figure out how the it works. If you could include more directions or instructions for new gamers that might help. The app wasn't effective at getting me to exercise, I gained enough energy to play the game just by doing my daily activities. As far as the game itself, it's pretty boring. It was ok at first and I like that you tried to add a little bit of variety throughout but I don't think there is enough to get kids to want to keep coming back to the app.

Loads of fun

it's a fun game that gets really addicting. it's very interesting was a little difficult to figure out but once that's done it's very fun.

Great Way to Get Kids to be Active!

Addicting game that encourages physical activity to keep playing. You'll want to get up and go to continue playing!

Great app for all ages

It is definitely different from other fitness trackers out there. Instead of just tracking your footsteps, you earn "energy" by walking, which allows you to play the games. There are no gimmicks. The concept itself is simple, the more you walk or run, the more games you get to play. I can see why this app would be perfect for kids who needs more fresh air but this app works for all ages. Whenever I get the opportunity, I try to walk more so that I won't run out of "energy" whenever I have time to play the games.
