Better than guessing ...

... but not by much. Shows much more light - up to ten times - then my MT-912 light meter 50,000 lux 12” under a 50W LED grow light just is a little much

Good tool

Froze twice. Had to reboot iPhone. Not accurate while it did operate.

Thanks!

Perfect -- just what I was looking for to figure out what plants will grow where.

Free But Useless> Buy a real Luxmeter

I purchased this (and a few other iPhone luxmeters) to help with planning lighting changes in a bathroom and kitchen. The readings are so far off from each other (from 50 to 1270 Lux at the same time, on the same spot.) as to be very suspicious. I finally bought an $80 real Lux meter. I don’t use it often, but it is always right on the mark, with repeatable results. This really doesn’t work.

Good Luxmeter

This would be a great lux meter with a small change. It should display the lux level using the same sold background as when you press the “hold” button when not in “hold” mode. That is because it is very hard to read the display when taking a reading in bright sunlight or bright artificial lighting. Also I believe the “information-How to use this app” has the direct/reflected settings backward.

Not too bad

It seems to do a pretty decent job but I wish there was the ability to switch cameras while in the direct light/lux mode. Right now ur stuck in only one which doesn't necessarily work for odd angles or whatnot. That limits it's s effectiveness for me so I can only give a **** review. Btw...the previous reviewer is correct, the directions are exactly backwards for how to work each mode.

Always wanted this

Every day in my work and play, I am experimenting with high dynamic range images. At work I have a $5,000 light meter, but not at home. This app is an astonishingly good replacement! Thank you so much! And it's free! I was seriously going to write my own app, but this is very good, don't need to!
