Another Fantastic Title! Thanks!!

If you love choose your own adventure type books then this is for you. This series is the best that the iPhone has to offer. Well worth the price and more!

Terribly broken combat system

The idea is amusing enough but the implementation is shoddy enough as to make the game unplayable. Questionable balance, early fail outs, and other sloppy game mechanics (more forgiveable in books where you can cheat if the dice are WAY against you repeatedly) make this game a loser. Do not buy.

Excellent

An excellent choose your own adventure game. The graphics are spectacular and everything is very polished.

Great, but tough.

Awesome new gamebook with wonderful writing and good mechanics but it a bit tough and offputting right from the go. Getting a bit tired of rereading the opening after getting slaughtered by the ogre boss or the damn crab. Still it's a good read as far as I've gone.

Keep them coming

TazarTheYoot

I really enjoy the quality of TinMan gamebooks. This second addition to the series not only meets my expectations it exceeds them. I hope the continue to keep these coming and keep up the quality work.

Great job

As high quality as fighting fantasy keep um coming!

Full of Problems

TBobo

First let me say that I have loved the two of the Gamebook adventures, #1 and #4. They were not perfect games, but they had a good balance and interesting storyline and good writing. This game book title, however, should be avoided. it has major problems. 1 BALANCE The only thing that makes this game book hard is that it lacks any balance. You encounter attack after attack with hardly any armor and then rarely find anything to bring back your vitality points. Often the correct path is through these fights. And the plot line is so narrow, you almost always have to fight the same creatures, no matter what choice you make. 2 FAKE CHOICES This book is riddled with choices that are not choices at all. No matter what you choose, you end up on exactly the same pages. Examples: No matter what choices you make for the first dozen or so decisions you will end up at the same four doors, with the exact same equipment. The only variance is how pathetically weak you are from the many battles that are impossible to avoid. At one point you are asked, do you want to get into the boat, or get under the boat for shelter. If you choose to get into the boat, you falter and end up tipping the boat over and are under the boat...and on the exact same page if you had chosen to get under the boat. This type of thing happens again and again and again. 3) OBVIOUS CHOICES MISSING At the page in the book were you are given four doors to walk through, only two of those rooms gives you the option to back up and go back through the door you came through. In the other two rooms, Nothing happens to the door you came through, it is just not one of your choices. You have entered a one way decision making tree. This feels very unnatural for this part of the story as you are supposed to be exploring and looking for anything that might help you. Sometimes the game gives you the obvious choice of exiting and trying another door, but most of the time it does not. 4) WRITNG NEEDS EDITING In one of the first pages you see basic mistakes like using the word "dark" twice in the same sentence and several more times on the same page. A good editor would catch this and suggest a few options to make the writing flow nicer. Avoid is one.

Missing content, useless choices

There must only 1 way thru this game book which I can't find for the life of me. Many options/choices end you up at the same locations, the book does not feel finished by any means. Some routes gain you items, and possible solves to puzzles which dead end cause you can never access the other paths. I think whom ever play tested the game should maybe do it without developer cheats. I was hoping the other negative review was wrong, but they are pretty spot on. A sin because I enjoy these games a lot.

Ok game

Not for the casual user. The other books (1&3) are better. It's to easy to miss vital objects early in the game, with no way to back-track.

Not much of a story.

I was very disappointed with this gamebook. There appears to be virtually no story in this one compared to the other gamebook adventures apps I have played (1st and 3rd book). This one is all about dungeon crawling and choosing one random door over another. Also, I feel like your choices do next to nothing other than find key items that will help you get to the ultimate ending and one random choice will lead to an instant death which is really annoying. Also, it really feels like there is no story, character development, or personality to this game because you're just tossed into some dungeon for no real reason and the whole game is you just trying to get to the end. It was bland and repetitive and I would recommend the other gamebooks in this series before this one.
