Dr. Edward B. Fry's Instant Words (which are often referred to as the "Fry Words") are the most common words used in English ranked in order of frequency.
In 1996, Dr. Fry expanded on Dolch's sight word lists and research and published a book titled "Fry 1000 Instant Words." In his research, Dr. Fry found the following results:
25 words make up approximately 1/3 of all items published.
100 words comprise approximately 1/2 of all of the words found in publications.
300 words make up approximately 65% of all written material.
To make learning the Fry Words fun, simple, and easy, we have broken all 1,000 Fry words into unique sets of 10 words each and created over 10 fun and engaging games to keep kids engaged and wanting to learn more.

This was featured on a free app of the week blog. I downloaded it and it won't even open. My iPad just crashes every time I try. I have and iPad 2 but my OS is up to date, so I don't see why it's an issue. Very disappointed, I usually have no problems with Grasshopper apps, and my kids love them.

Love using many of the Grasshopper apps....I work with individuals with memory and cognitive challenges and this is another winner to teach, reinforce and allow success for those who may not ever be able to acquire full reading skills! This app will help and is fun to learn the sight words....love the Bitsboard style for this!!! TechAble!
