Just what my son needed
Helping kids
Really teaches all the critical skills that my son's teachers assumed he had. He avoids math -- he has really struggled with fractions and decimals. He woke up the other day on vacation and played this app. It may not look challenging to an adult but my son liked the feeling of making progress and being successful. I tried their free app which explains the educational method to parents and teachers. Very helpful. I hope they add sounds to the fractions as their names can be confusing. But the way numbers are laid out visually is great.

Two of my grandchildren and their cousin; ages 8,10 and 11 thoroughly enjoyed unlocking the levels in this app! And while doing so, were learning in a fun and engaging manner the concept and relationship between fractions and decimals. Their comments, while playing (and learning!) speak for themselves. "This is fun! I just can't stop playing...this game is awesome! It's helping me learn new fractions". When they woke in the morning, the FIRST thing my granddaughter said was, "Can we play the math app again?".

Have taught 4th and 5th grade for 13 years. I know how difficult it can be. This app is remarkable in every way. Every parent and teacher would do well to purchase this app for their young learner. To say this is a must have for those learning fractions is an understatement. I don't know why this app is not top 10 in the education section.

I bought this to use with my 4th graders and was disappointed. The questions provide very little variety. We received the same questions over and over even across different levels. Additionally, most answers were multiple choice. This is fine for test prep, but I want my students to be able to create the fractions and rules on their own, a much harder task than recognizing the correct answer. Furthermore, when asked to fill in fractions by tapping on the screen, instead of forcing the students to decide when they had filled in the correct number of pieces, the program automatically stops after it filled to the correct number. Some of my students quickly recognized this loophole, and stated tapping mindlessly yet answered each of those problems properly. This a decent fraction review, but it is not the multi-sensory concept building program the developers tout it to be. Search around for more challenging and engaging fraction apps.

I've been using the iPad app for a few months now but have to say I love the new iPhone app. The system is fast, the questions are challenging, and it is very easy to use. This is a great tool for anyone looking to improve their understanding of fractions and decimals.

I was hoping to use this in my classroom, but it only has settings for one person to play. For it to be useful in a classroom, or even a family like mine with five kids, it will need separate accounts for kids to use so their progress can be checked individually,
