There are a number of good things about this game but it also needs some help in order to get a really good rating. I like the idea of the bugs not being contained to a predetermined path and the tree of life/forest spirit/forest energy concept is a nice twist on the normal tower defense plotline. The graphis are variable--some things look great and others don't. The layout of many of the (especially) later levels makes it difficult to see some areas of the map. This is especially critical when you have attacks happening on opposite sides of the map and you can't monitor all at the same time. Difficulty of the levels is uneven and some don't have an appropriate amount of starting money to allow initial set-up of proper defenses (I'm not talking good enough defenses to win from the start but good enough to get to to the point where you can extablish yourself). There was one level I never beat because I was having trouble, mostly due to the way I upgraded items. I moved on to other levels, because I could (which is a nice feature), figuring I'd return when I'd upgraded defenses appropriately. I wound up not being able to go back and finish that level because once I'd beat the final level the game was over, no way to get that last level. English in the storyline is generally fairly bad and the lighting in most of the levels, especially later, is too dark. Even with the brightness turned up it is hard to see some things as well as I'd like. With just a little bit of polish, this could be a much better game. Unfortunately, it appears as if the dev won't be doing that; the game had no updates for years and the recent one just made it free. Seems as if could be "abandonware" now. That's too bad because it wouldn't take too much to really improve the game.

I'll be gentle since I can see this is a new game. The game is fun and challenging on hard. It can use some graphical improvement: sometimes the controls make some areas hard to access without zooming. There are some spelling mistakes that take away from the atmosphere of the game. Overall, I really liked this game and with some minor touch up, it would make a great game.
