Don't waste your money

Our child plays baking games a lot and couldn't get past the step of getting the cake out of the oven. There also seem to be no hints or clues. Thanks for the meltdown!

Yummy, yummy, tasty

My daughter loves decorating the cakes with wacky stuff. Then when the monsters eat the cake, she goes nuts with laughter. Keeps her busy for quite a while. Great app!

My 3 y.o. daughter is obsessed.

In the tradition of old Nintendo DS games like "Cake Mania," the point of this game is to make a pastry according to the monster-customers' orders (or to give them something else entirely and watch their reactions). Its a simple premise, but one that keeps things interesting by rewarding experimentation throughout the baking / decorating / delivery process with various interactive "Easter eggs." And of course as you can see from the screenshots, the art is superb.

Love this

Both my three and five year old enjoy this simple game. Not a lot of education but basics in putting together a baked good. A million interactive things around the game and love the seasonal touches.

Super fun til it stopped working

I downloaded this app this morning and it worked - then I updated to the new iOS and it crashes. Every time.

Love it, but....

Lately it's been crashing on my iPad mini 2. I granddaughter loves playing, but it crashes when she gets to the key and it restarts the whole iPad. Needs to be fixed! :(

Foodo Kitchen = So Much Fun!

Foodo Kitchen has been my daughter’s favorite iPad app since we downloaded it. I like it too, because it’s a beautiful, high-quality app that’s really in-tune with its Little Kid audience-it requires zero reading, so little kids and pre-readers can play independently. There are no pop-up ads, no in-app purchases. The game is educational as well as fun- the idea is that the monster “tells” the player what kind of monster treat he wants. The next screen takes the child to the kitchen, where they pull milk, eggs, and flour from a drawer. They get to crack the eggs and pour the milk and flour all over the counter. A rolling pin appears, and the child gets to roll out the dough. There’s something pretty satisfying about making a mess on the counter and then rolling it into an orderly sheet of dough. Now, here’s where the player has to put on their thinking cap, because in the other kitchen drawer, there are cookie cutters of various shapes. The child needs to select the treat shape that the monster ordered. However, if the child chooses the wrong shape, either by accident or because they want to make the kind of treat they want to make, and the monster can like it or lump it, the game lets you proceed. There’s a mini-game at the oven. The child sees a series of 3 colored lights, and they have to remember the sequence to make the oven turn on. The child also has to select the flavor of syrup the monster ordered, and there’s an opportunity to decorate that treat with all kinds of decorations. Finally, the player gets to present the treat to the monster. The monster eats the treat, and it the player made what the monster ordered, the monster smiles and burps and flips the player a gold coin. Awesome! If the Little Kid went off the grid and made whatever the heck he or she wanted to, and it wasn’t what the monster ordered, the monster eats it,makes a face, then barfs it back out- it’s just gross enough to make a Little Kid giggle, and it isn’t disgusting. And then the next monster comes in and orders the treat he wants. This game is so friendly and fun, sometimes I like to play it, too! We ran into some trouble with the app, back in November 2015. It worked great until we updated the iPad, and then the app would crash right after we got the dough rolled out. I contacted TutuLabs to let them know we were having an issue, and I expected that the developer would just take note of it and address it in a subsequent update. No big deal- we were disappointed that Foodo Kitchen wasn’t operating correctly for us, but we were confident that it would get addressed eventually. I received an email from the developer herself, and she worked with me to figure out what the problem my iPad was having with the app- it turns out that the problem was unique to my particular iPad. She still took time to get the app working for us. That just amazed me. We loved this game and were fans of Tutu Labs before things went hay-wire with this app on my unique little snowflake of an iPad, but now, I am a for-life fan. That was really above-and-beyond, in my book. We cannot wait to see what’s in the future from and for Tutu Labs!

Fun!
