Awesome functionality, glitchy & pathetic dictionary

Update 3/5/2018: Why do all developers do this? They appear to make improvements based on user feedback, then suddenly intorduce new unwelcome changes and glitches. With the recent update, the shift and return keys have been redesigned so they're now ugly and don't match the former refined aesthetic of the keyboard. Why??? Why do something like this? The app is now also very laggy. Meanwhile, other unpleasant quirks described in my earlier reviews below have not been addressed. Whatever they've done has not improved the user experience at all. I just don't understand the tech mindset. Update 8/17/2017: I got a message from the developer that an updated version was available so I gave it a try. Okay, I really appreciate the hard work out into this app but to be perfectly honest, the latest version feels the same as before. I still love ability to delete words by swiping left (huge leg up on all the competitors) and the shortcuts. I've also trained my dictionary so it's better than before. Unfortunately, the most irritating shortcomings are very much present: extremely aggressive autocorrect that replaces words that aren't even misspelt. Seriously, what is up with that?????!!!!!???? Why forcibly correct words that aren't wrong? Another very strange behaviour is when you highlight and delete a word, you are left with both spaces that preceded and followed the deleted word. If you tap the delete button immediately after deleting the word, it skips the extra space right before the cursor and deletes the letter before the extra space! Why would anyone find this behaviour helpful. I can only guess that this is a bug (autocorrect just replaced 'bug' with 'big', see what I mean?) that has persisted throughout all the updates. It cannot possibly be an intentional behaviour, can it? Anyway, thanks for the upgrade but I really hope the dev team looks deeply into improving the UX. I'm only being critical because this app has SO much potential. Update 4/18/2016: I just had to add 'sap' and 'vans' to the dictionary. But 'Ibiza', it knows?? And it keeps replacing words that are correct. Beyond ridiculous. I LOVE the swipe to delete whole words, and the capability to toggle for punctuation, but this app is too crippled by the pathetic dictionary to be useful. The people who love this app must not care about spelling in the least. Sadly, I'm uninstalling it. This app is a fail because it can't perform its primary function properly. Update 3/6/16: I just had to add the words 'true' and 'sidewalk' to my dictionary. Seriously? Guys, what are you doing over there?!? Please upgrade the dictionary. Also, after the most recent update my Australian keyboard no longer recognises Aussie spelling. This is a joke! I'm leaving my rating at 3 stars because there is great potential here if the amateur glitches are fixed. Original review: I tried the Fleksy keyboard because I got tired of swinging between the extremes of Apple's (overzealous autocorrect or insane typos from poorly mapped keys). On the positive side, Fleksy keys are better mapped and the keyboard comes with some very nice functions (swipe to delete whole words, hold spacebar to scroll through words, swiping up/down to toggle words and punctuation). Even the tapping sound is nicer. But all this great time-saving functionality is crippled by a truly pathetic dictionary. It doesn't know names like NYC, Los Angeles or Osaka? There's a host of common words that are missing from the default dictionary. In this, no third party keyboard comes within light years of Apple's. I understand that we're supposed to train the keyboard but this makes for a very frustrating first few months. I really hope this gap can be filled in future updates. For now, very close but no cigar.

Why did you guys change the look of those buttons they're way too thick. They don't look good. Please change these buttons back to the way they were or at least give us the option to change them ourselves. This was my favorite keyboard I even paid for it a long time ago now it's becoming very bad. Also can you add the ability to add and outline to the keyboard to frame the keys and the buttons all together almost as if there's three lines through the keyboard (for the first row, second row and third). Then lines outlining the space bar and buttons please, that'd be great if you gave us more to customize; it'll be 5 stars then for sure.
Keyboard getting more stable

Finally starting to see some behind the scenes work with making the keyboard more stable. Feeling really crisp with the iPhone 7, use it over the stock keyboard because the auto correction is so great. Only wishes they would really add at this point are cosmetic type things. The system theme would be great to see it be more plain white and keeping the translucent effect for dark messages as well as it would be awesome if the chameleon theme would be made to work better (if possible) iOS 11 took what was the best theme and made it weird by adding a delay for how long it takes to register the color of the background.

I really like this keyboard. I'm glad I can have number row and it works very smoothly. Great keyboard app overall.

Definitely the best third party keyboard app out there, but I do wish the gifs were bigger when you sent them. So far though, no complaints. it's a great app.

It's super customizable and works very well. The only big problem I have with it is that it doesn't autocorrect the last word when you press send like the iOS keyboard does so my last word is usually typed incorrectly.

If you speed up the letter input rate, 5 stars easy :) it seems a little bit sluggish.
