Really good game with lots of things to unlock. The only drawback is that it becomes rapidly challenging to progress without spending $$. I spent $25 on the coin doubler and in game bucks. It should be easier to earn in game dollars in order to buy the middle and top tier baits.

Overall great game, but the little fish piss me off. A little worthless fish shouldn't dart in from off screen to steal the bait from a good fish that is like "Oh what's up? Let me check this thing out before I eat it". Nor should they attack upgraded bait so quickly. I understand putting a challenge in a game, but it's a bit too much.

This game doesn't deserve the negative reviews it has accrued. I haven't spent a penny on the game (yet - but I would) and I continue to progress into the game at a steady pace. I agree on one point - when you don't catch a fish, you should be able to keep the bait from that particular cast. However, with skill and by entering tournaments and collecting bounties, you can buy bait, catch fish, and upgrade all of your gear without buying anything. This includes the doubler package offered for $4.99 (which is very reasonable considering the quality and intricacies of the game.). The designers don't force-watch any ads, just offer them as a choice to double certain $ amounts. Within a short amount of time, I have made it to the last level of Arctic River, have a good character with a great hat (my Fishtron 3000 dons a squid cap,) and have the best boat available (the yacht.). This was accomplished mainly by learning certain techniques, accomplishing quests, collecting fish bounties, and winning tournaments. Learning how to reel difficult fish with care and attempting to avoid smaller fish by moving your lure around with your finger after casting helps a great deal. You can pull your lure out of the water causing the smaller fish chasing your line to jump, then disregard your hook. Purposefully hitting nearby idle smaller fish also causes them to swim away so you can get the attention of larger fish without interference. When you finish in the top tier of entered tournaments you receive special bait which immediately attracts special fish while temporarily doubling your attack power. One reviewer stated you have to have Facebook to save your game. Untrue - I'm not on FB and it's being saved with no problem with Game Center on iPhone. I have a preschooler who plays on another device with his own game file. He squeals with delight as he catches both regular and special fish with relative ease. He doesn't enter tournaments but knows how to get extra money for bait by catching goldfish. It's also possible to link with friends and create a Fishing Crew to play special group contests. I don't get "hooked" on many apps (pun intended,) but this one provides enough challenge with varied feats and details to keep things interesting. It's fun to see and collect all new species of fish with each unlocked location. Your best are kept and showcased in museums which then collect money. Get a good collection and you will pull in a decent profit. Ultimately, this is a complex and fun game for all ages and a welcome relief from free games designed solely for profit that bombard you with ads or make it impossible to advance without purchases. I don't usually review games to this extent but I felt this one deserved a much better rap than the other reviews implied.

I have been trying to catch S rated fish for a month now. And I've caught fish that should be S rated but they were B ranked, please fix this and I will give this a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating
