With over 500 life forms (counts by order are below), eFishesW can serve as a reference tool for biologists, educators and students. The life forms are accessible by common name, latin name and taxonomy.
Each life form is presented with an image, a textual description, and it's taxonomy tree. Maps are also included for many of the life forms.
A free sampler, eLifeFormsW - A Search Life Forms Sampler is available for free download and review. We strongly recommend all interested customers download and sample the demonstration version before buying our paid for products. This "try before you buy" policy allows for interacting with the user interface, content sampling and overall review of the presentation. As regular users of wild life reference materials, we believe our products are best positioned as a supplement to the field guides, software identification tools, atlases and other animal and plant life compendiums and not a replacement.

The information in this app is true from what I can tell, but VERY limited and VERY repetitive. It repeats, word for word, certain paragraphs of text for multiple species from the same families/orders, which is incredibly cheap and annoying. The most helpful thing from this app is the taxonomy, but that's only if you can get the app to stay open long enough to even find the fish you wish to view, since it crashes so much. My maximum time to have it open was about 2 and a half minutes. Also, it gives you virtually NO help in identifying the species, other than a blurry picture or two. Please please please please do not buy this app. If you we're thinking about it. DON'T. It is NOT and will NEVER be worth $5. MAYBE it could be a $2 app some day, if it is updated, debugged, had more information, and did not have copy/pasted paragraphs.
The app does not have the information j was expecting for example when I clicked on "freshwater drum" it did not give me very much information on the fish but rather gave me broad information about all drums. So I am very disappointed in this app especially because it is $2.99
