The best for learning the Soroban!

Well worth the cost. It will teach the student step-by-step how a Soroban (abacus) is used. Beautiful graphics and easy to understand! Nice sound effects and "musical reward" for different levels completed!

Nice graphics and taught me to be quick with the abacus, at least the virtual version. I must say however that multiplication and division aren't there in this game although the screenshot shows them. Only the addition and subtraction seem to be there. Hopefully the game will be updated with them. I have used this game for the past month and play with it everyday. I think i have gotten to be good at it. I did read instruction from idirect or some such website i found using google. The tips from there really helped me. Other games for soroban have crappy graphics. Not only did this one have great graphics, the game itself is cool. There is another game however where you have to write down the answer once you have computed your answer. That may be the proper way, this one isn't bad. Wish they have multiplication and division, i would really like to learn that on this game. Good job smatoos.

Great learning tool. Just about the time my kids got interested, they want $3.99 for the in app purchase of the rest of it. Don't believe the .99 that is listed in the description. I would be happy to spend a buck on a great game but now don't want to spend a dime since it is so misleading.

This app will make you reauthorize your purchase every level. Every. Single. Time. Every. Single. Level. Even. If. You. Already. Finished. It. Unless you want to reenter your password every time you play, you shouldn't buy it.
As good as an abacus app gets

Liked the app, but 3.99 is bit high, especially if have to restore your iOS device since you ll have to fork out another 3.99 to unlock the full version. If u want to learn how to use an abacus this app will do it.

Not only will you learn how to properly use a 'real' Soroban abacus, there are also tests so that you (and/or your child) can be sure you've truly mastered what you learned. Other abac(i?) programs either give just the abacus, with no instructions, or the program is way too 'childish' & cutesy. The fingerwork, which is essential to do fast calculations with a real abacus, is taught in the tutorial section. This is lacking in the other programs I've used. And the app reacts perfectly to the user's touch. In another program I've tried, the beads lag which makes it difficult to get correct calculations. What you get: - An 11-digit Soroban (Simplified Japanese) Abacus - A Tutorial section - 3 Sections of mastery problems, from easy to hard. - and a personal abacus calculator to make your own calculations with. This is a great app for people who've always wanted to learn how to use a real abacus. It's even easier than having the real thing! This program is especially great if you have had problems with math before. Math geeks will love it as well. This is an all-ages app from 3 to beyond. I'm in my thirties who loves anything to do with math & my child is three. Both of us find it challenging yet fun. Hopefully, they will create the multiplication/division part of this program soon...

There is a mistake in the first few problems. The abacus does not allow you to move on until you sole a problem correctly. Well, if THIER answer is wrong, what are you supposed to do? just keep guessing. Worthless until you fix this. I would like a refund.
