Great potential to see the world's uniqueness!

NYMICats

I am downloading this app with great excitement at the thought of seeing unique and yet everyday snaps of life from around the world! I will add to it myself from my adopted hometown and as I travel (mostly the USA). This can become our shared picturesque "Time-Life coffee table" book on our phones and tablets!

Technical issues with app.

.parliament.

While I think this is an awesome idea, I cannot access the app from my Home screen. The icon looks like it's waiting to update, but it's been looking like that for a few weeks. I will try to remove it from my phone with iTunes and reload to see if that will stop this from happening.

One happy chickie

Love the new ui. It's a lot easier to find stuff and more user friendly. One suggestion would love to see a tab or something close to it of the notes we follow instead of having to search by person. Any who just a thought. Thanks dev

Discovering the world

Caterina F

As I used the app, traveling not only to foreign countries, but also to the next town over, I found hidden histories, and stories I would not otherwise have known. There can be no doubt I have a strong bias, but I am still astonished at how many contributors have come and made this a bazaar of infinite discovery.

Not helpful

It is just too messy to go through all of the notes that is available. And I don't care if this is the furthest you have been from your home country. There are just way too many people posting frivolous notes.

App needs work

Some interesting info but this app needs some user interface improvements. For example, a "back" button would be first on the list so that after you read an entry you can go back to your search results. Pretty basic but sorely needed.

Great update

Findery is a cool app in that it isn't one size fits all. People use it for many different things, like leaving historical notes for family members or documenting a trip or making an old city come alive with cool facts and ideas about places to go. This new update is awesome. The near far thing is cool. Now I just have to start my project: documenting all the places I've been! Great job on the new look and functionality!!

Love the new update. It's so much easier to find and discover new notes. Thanks dev.

Not for locals

Kiwipokesyou

This app is great for tourists wanting to take a page out of another travelers book, but is just about useless for locals. The first 3 "found" spots, were a well-known local restaurant, a graffiti wall (I live in Austin, it would be more impressive to find a wall that doesn't have graffiti art on it) and the 20 mile park running through the city.. It took about 5 minutes to find something that I didn't know was here, or that was worth clicking on, and it ended up being a 'fun tourist activity' an hour and a half from where I live. I will say, this issue isn't due to the makers of the app, and the app itself is fairly easy to navigate, but there needs to be some separation from the tourists visiting and ranting about places you've been to 100 times, and locals that found random cool stuff that's unknown to most.
