I downloaded the app and paid for Warlock of Firetop Mountain. The app immediately asked if I wanted to update the book (which doesn’t make any sense if you’re downloading it for the first time). I clicked Update and there was no visual indicator that anything had happened. Instead of some kind of progress indicator that you’d expect, the dialog box remains on the screen. You can still press Update (or the Later button) as well as things beneath the dialog. Very sloppy interface design. Because I had no indication that the app was doing anything, I had to force quit. I’ve tried the same thing a few times now with no positive result. Currently unhappy that I’ve paid $4 for a book I can’t download.

I clicked on a book (the free one that comes with it) and a pop up said “Update or Later” I clicked “Update” and the screen just stayed there. I clicked “Later” and the same thing happened. So now it is just sitting there. Some reviews say this app is fantastic and I’d love to try it but it doesn’t seem ready to go right now.

Love having an app that has all the books in one place. Interface is smooth and user friendly. Also very easy to save your place so you can come right back if you made a bad turn. Really enjoying reliving these books from my youth. Any chance the Lone Wolf Book series could be incorporated into this in the future?

The initial release of this app was quite buggy. But recent updates have resolved all of the problems. The app is a great adaptation of these classic adventure gamebooks.

I played all of these in the 80’s and early 90’s. It’s a nostalgic blast to get to go back and play these all over again. The app is great in that it collects them all in one place so you have a library of classic game books at your fingertips.

I loved these books as a kid and wished I had held on to them. Now they are back and better than ever with a mapping system, bookmarks, and dice combat system. Totally worth it. My only wish is for the Talisman of Death to be available.

Love to see this old classic reimagined in digital format! Obsessively trying to collect all the artwork :-)! Such gorgeous, intelligent stories! ?
