Fiddlicator

The Fiddlicator is an audio tool which can simulate various kinds of acoustic environment by the convolution of the input signal with a custom impulse response.

Music Free Martin Varga iPhone, iPad, iPod

It was developed to simulate an acoustic body resonance for electric musical instruments (mainly the electric violin), but it can also be used for a cab simulation with proper impulse response files (not included).
The impulse response files can be imported via iTunes share or via 'Open in' option from another application.
The Fiddlicator is not appropriate to use as convolution reverb engine, because it can not process impulse response files longer than ~0.35 sec. (1.4 sec. with Fiddlicator Plus & MIDI extension)

Amazingly versatile, yet doesn't break the bank
Yoders.6

For years, I have only used Fiddlicator as a mere convolution engine and to give sawtooth waves a sort of "acoustic" character, despite being synthetic. Now that I own an electric violin - the first violin I've played in over 17 years - I can fully appreciate what Fiddlicator has to offer. It gives my e-violin the acoustic qualities of a traditional violin I need, without shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars for the real deal. If I could give this app more than five stars, my rating would literally be over 9,000. Fiddlicator is easily one of the best apps I've downloaded for not only my iPhone, but also my iPad.

Terrible

No way to open music or apply it to my mp3s….useless

Absolutely amazing for solid body 5 string violin.

I really loved the feel of my solid body electric violin with a BTS bridge transducer. However I soon realized that I was never going to get a rich violin tone without a sound box. I tried tons of stuff on and off for 25 years. Short delay, reverb, eq, tube pre amps, acoustic resonator effects... I am using an Apogee Jam lightening port adapter. I started this app and chose a violin impulse file and as soon as I even tapped the end of my patch cable, I could hear the the violin body acoustics, like when you tap the body of an acoustic violin. It sounds amazing with just the convolution without even messing with the other features. AUE played nice with Garage Band. No updates for a while. I hope the dev is still maintaining this. Some Cello impulses would be great too.

Works great for electric violins, violas, and cellos

I use it with my Yamaha SV150 using an iRig and iPad directly into my amp. Works like a charm.

Tweak it a little and add as IAP for Auria
CoopMusic247

I'd love to get this to work with longer IRs, but also I want to use this as a plugin in Auria as a type of channel strip. Please get in touch with them so you can make this an IAP for their app.

Very cool!

What a great idea! This is going to be a great asset on live gigs. I play the electric Cello... Will have add a Cello sound too?

Very versatile tool

I'm using it as a general tool in Audiobus chains. I play lap steel guitar through wacky effects processors. Fiddlicator has good input and output meters, very comprehensive EQ, quick change between presets, and bonus delay and verb. It's very well laid out. I haven’t even started on its reason for being, the instrument character impulse responses.

Big Mistake
wernickpro

Tried to use this app with no success. The only thing that worked was the volume control. I updated to the $4.99 version and same thing. I uninstalled, reinstalled and it made no difference. Tried to contact the company twice and no response. Then a recurring charge shows up monthly. Avoid this app and the people who designed it until they act worthy enough to even be on ITunes.

Great free app
Tenente

I use this regularly for audio processing. Eq + delay & verb. Works great, seldom crashes in GarageBand & AudioShare. Amazing & useful app for free. Thank you for this!

Very good but we need AUV3 support
Joe Salyers

I love this app but only one instance isn’t enough. I’m asking Please to the developer add AUV3 compatibility, Audiobus and inter app audio are the past AUV3 is the future. I will gladly pay extra for an AUV3 as an in app purchase just to have multiple instances of this effect. The EQ inside this effect is amazing and works like a charm and a convolution reverb with this level of tweak abilities is perfect for iOS.
