You’ve heard the story of the boy that cried wolf? That’s the FEMA app in a nutshell. WAY too many notifications without the forecasted predictions occurring.
Fails to send alerts!

My wife and I installed this app on our phones so that we could get overnight alerts in the event of a tornado watch or warning. The app fails to give alerts! We only get alerts when we open the app. We’ve double- and triple-checked our notification settings in the app and in our phones’ general settings, and everything should be working fine. But it’s not. This is a critical feature of this app. And the Washington Post’s Capitol Weather Gang frequently recommends installing the app to get overnight weather alerts. But clearly the app isn’t a reliable failsafe.

This app was great to have last night as tornadoes touched down in Ohio several times. I was asleep and didn’t hear the sirens. This app was loud. It’s great to be able to tell the app which alerts I want. Great job.

Needs to be location based instead of hunting down where you live . Other than that it works as expected
Location bases on GPS?

I see there isn’t an option that tells the App your location from the GPS in your phone. Will this be added in a later version? I use WeatherBug and it uses my GPS. Thanks.

Absolutely everyone should have this installed and configured to their county. You can customize the notifications you receive. I personally have all alerts turned on. There is also the ability to share photos of disaster damage. These photos are critical and valuable to emergency management and the National Weather Service. I wish the capability were added to send you alerts based on your GPS location in the event you are traveling.
Alerts that don’t show

For several days, I’ve periodically received notifications that there are Alerts on the app, but when I select it nothing is there. This is not the first time it has happened either.
Please correct alert issue

Please stop issuing alerts in triplicate. It is annoying enough that I have turned off the notifications for this app.
