Boy Howdy's Expert Sudoku has four tricky types of Sudokus to try:
• X Sudoku is the same as regular 9x9 sudoku, but both diagonals must contain 1 to 9 once only.
• Hyper Sudoku is 9x9 but with an additional set of four 3x3 blocks that must contain 1 to 9 once only.
• Jigsaw Sudoku is 9x9 but instead of 3x3 smaller blocks, the blocks are shaped like jigsaw pieces.
• Samurai Sudoku (iPad only, because it's HUGE!) is a super combo of five regular 9x9 sudoku puzzles, overlapping on one corner of one of the 3x3 blocks. Note that the normal row/column constraints are only within each 9x9 square.
• There are 40,000 Sudokus for each of the four types! (10,000 Easy, 10,000 Medium, 10,000 Hard, and 10,000 Evil Sudokus)
• Beautiful, easy to read numbers!
• Full UNDO support!
• Fast and intuitive dual-keypad input system - just tap a cell and easily mark your answer or pencil marks!
• Pencil marks are auto-erased as you enter answers! (Can be turned off if you wish)
• Horizontal and Vertical guidelines make it easy to look at your current row and column (Can be turned off if you wish)
• Auto-highlight other cells with the same number as the currently selected cell
• Auto-highlight cells that have a visible conflict
• Auto-highlight pencil marks that have a visible conflict
(All of these highlights can be disabled if you wish)
• Hint function if you get stuck!
• Check your work function, to spot any problems you've got if you're unsure!
• Your progress is automatically saved, all the time, so go ahead and take that call or jump out to any other apps - you can come back and pick up playing right where you left off!
• Sounds can be disabled if you want a quiet game
• You can even listen to your own music while you play

Please let developer know if you’re interested in Ad-free. Original review: Please create Ad free version, I’m sure a lot of us are willing to pay for that. The Ad gets in the way of playing and ruins game play experience. Please reply back with response. Updated: Developer replied back. Basically the developer indicated the ad doesn’t interfere with game play. I’m sure I’m not the only one when playing the game, the palm of my hand touches the ad box at the bottom and the ad pops up. This happens frequently...very annoying. If the developer can’t provide an ad free version (which I’m sure many of us will be glad to pay), at least provide us an option where the ad would show on top of the screen instead of the bottom of the screen. Thanks!

I have come to enjoy the additional challenges of the different versions of Sudoku presented in this app. I really enjoy the Samurai version on my iPad. After a recent update, I was unable to load the Samurai version, so I reached out to Boy Howdy. The response was pretty much immediate and they kept in touch until the issue was resolved. Great games, awesome service.

Sudoku is a fun yet challenging game that keeps your mind working and can help you to keep your brain working as it is meant to. Most people are unaware that Sudoku was created by a Nebraska newspaper writer which failed to begin with and was started again in Japan where it went over like gangbusters with the people there. Eventually it was started in the U.S. with the title of Number Place. Over the years it has gained popularity all over the world and remains with the name Sudoku. I started with the easy Sudoku puzzles and soon found myself doing the hard puzzles including the challenger level puzzles. I still Love to do them and don’t have any plans to stop. I hope whoever reads this enjoys them and if you have never tried playing them it would be a great time to start! Have a great day everyone and enjoy your lives as I continue to enjoy mine. The game has the potential to be five stars. The graphics, tools provided and gameplay are very good. Even the ads are not obtrusive. Where it falls woefully short is that it provides way too many exposed numbers at the start of the game. Even at the most advanced level it is so easy as to be trivial. This is a very easily fixed problem. I hope the App designers will correct it.

This is a great twist to the original Sudoku. There was a small bug in the original release, but the Howdy's have resolved the issue. Very challenging.

I was so excited to see an app with some of my favorite formats of Sudoku. Then I opened it. It's not symmetrical as true sudoku puzzles are. Please name it differently! Deleting now.
