Euchre Baron is different from other euchre software in several ways. Most other euchre software works primarily on the basis of what artificial intelligence researchers refer to as expert systems: collections of rules designed by humans to compute decisions about trump-making, the discard, and play of the cards. We developed Euchre Baron to compute decisions primarily by using what artificial intelligence researchers refer to as search: projecting the hypothetical result of playing out the deal.

To make a decision on whether to make trump or pass, what card to discard as dealer, or what card to play to a trick, Euchre Baron imagines possible hands for the other players, based on its hand and the actions that all players have taken so far. Based on these possible hands, it constructs dozens of possible complete deals.
Then, for each of these deals, the program projects the hypothetical score for playing out the deal, depending on what decision it makes. The program then makes the decision that leads to the best score on these dozens of deals.

Fun to play and it is already teaching me how to beat my buddies at this game! The bots are amazing and I've learned some really nice tricks from them already.

This is a great game. It has all the options I was wanting in some of the other Euchre games and the AI plays a superior game. I have noticed a couple of bugs but dont let that stop you from buying. They are minor and I am sure will be addressed soon!

Processing is a little slow but otherwise great!

I gave this five stars because i hate to see such a good app loose its 5 star rating. I only have incurred one problem. It will not let me switch between the game winning scores. If i put it on 15 it remains at 10 no matter how many times i try. But this app still deserves the 5 stars because i love it. Keep up the good work. Do NOT hesitate to buy this if your a euchre fan. Its worth every last penny. Update: i just dropped my itoych and its now working to 15

The best euchre app I've found

I decided to learn euchre simply because it's so hard to find a good electronic version of Skat, a German bidding/trump game. I downloaded most of the euchre apps available and this is the best by far with an excellent ai. I'd love a tutorial or strategy-learning function, but the hint function is worthwhile for newbies. Good stuff.

Really a nice Euchre app with cool interface and very very strong player. Happy to see that Canadian rules are are available. I would love to see 25 card Euchre game. Good to see reported issues had been addressed.

Overall this is great, the new version is much improved! However, I still wish it would always reveal the unplayed cards, and always report which side scores.

I've lost count over how many times my partner has been set after he's gone alone. Partner also has the annoying habit of leading low opponents' trump.
