Good but not great (greed edition)

Well. Interesting experience. Campaign is fun. Up to a point. The developers have chosen a different tack. Instead of upping the velocity of the game in the higher levels, it slows to a crawl. What I mean is that the game runs fine, but as the enemy forces get more difficult, the points scored get lowered. And points scored on crystals decreases. So it takes forever to built up currency to purchase new towers, or replace destroyed towers. My assumption is that this is a pretty callous way of making a user in-game purchase. So to be able to purchase the more expensive units you are forced to resort to purchasing credit. Instead of playing on endless mode, I am giving up. I purchased to original and I purchased the retina upgrade. No problem. This is a good game made unsatisfying to people who really want to play it. The fun of a tower defense game comes on the later levels when the expensive towers become available and that the challenges scale to what you can put on the board as a player. When your ability to play the game is so blatantly handicapped, it simply becomes not fun. Who wants that?

One of the better ones for the iPad. Story is lame, but gameplay is good. Not super original, used to crash more on my 1st gen tablet but it's better since the update.

Super fun, so far. Lots of baddies, lots of upgrades to a lot of different placeable units. It also auto saves every so often so when it does crash it's no big deal to restart it. Purty grafixs, no storyline, lots of permeant upgrades too that add more replayability. ???

This is a fantastic and challenging TD game with really beautiful graphics. My biggest problem with it is that it crashes All The Time. I have an older iPad, so perhaps the problem is on my end, but I can't get through many of the later levels and challenge/endless levels without it quitting, requiring me to restart the game. Fortunately, it saves often so I usually only lose a few seconds of progress. But it's still a pain that it crashes with such regularity.
