If you are looking to learn Portuguese (and not just briefly travel to Brazil), this app has limited utility. It's best, in my opinion, for the pronunciation practice/comparison. The speakers are authentic and not computer-sounding, though there are some regional differences noticeable here and there. If you know the region you're looking to emulate that's not a problem, otherwise you'll likely be wondering how you should really pronounce "de," for example. I like the categories, the sentence-creating option with replayable audio, and the speakers. It's rather limited and is just about learning/listening to set phrases. Still worth the five-dollar in-app purchase, in my opinion, especially since there are not a ton of really great options for Brazilian Portuguese apps.

I tried three simple phrases or words and none fo thm worked. Also it's misleading cause we have to buy lots of stuff.

C'mon cheapskates! If you're going to offer a free app with only like 8 free phrases that is a huge rip off! (Pretty much everything else necessitates an in-app purchase!) I understand that more complicated/in-depth translation would maybe need an upgrade, but this should offer way more phrases than this!!! Don't bother!!!!

This is why I hate my Apple and why I prefer droids every droid app that works fine for free you have to pay for a stripped-down version of that is pretty much useless with an iPhone

Limited free translation... Don't do it. Who knows how much in-app charges would be but it isn't worth the risk especially since additional charges are not disclosed.
