Device will not work with IPad Pro

Linbragg

I am so tired of buying items for iPads and then they change. What a waste of money. You spend a fortune on the IPAD PRO TO FIND OUT THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH iOS 11.. Anyway to screw you out of money...DISAPPOINTED

Crashes on start 3 times out of 5

Really wanted this to work better than it does. Love the added storage but using it is VERY frustrating. Most times when started the app freezes and you have to double press the home button and unload the app. Seriously, I usually have to do this 3 or 4 times on my iPad mini or iPhone running iOS 9.2.1 before the app will work. Once started and able to access the contents of the iCobra drive the app crashes about 20% of the time. Pleas guys, stability and reliability need to be a major focus. Then we can worry about niceties like sorting music by album, etc.

Not nearly as good as I hoped

Bolan19

I bought the iCobra over other brands because of lightning connection. I don't have to remove my iPhone case to plug it in. That is the good part. The ease of the backup is great but it didn't backup all of my photos. It only went back about 6 weeks. Anything before that the iCobra didn't transfer over and there's no way to do it manually. I'm extremely disappointed.

No Third Party Transfers as Claimed

RBJrNJ

Purchased the iCobra with intent to store movies for long airline flights based on the “Claim” that you can transfer files to third party apps that will play non native Apple formats. This is NOT the case. In fact, the current EMTEC Connect app installed on my iPhone and iPad DOES NOT EVEN HAVE the “third party transfer settings” & “Dropbox” menu items shown in the screen shots above. I have no idea where those shots came from, but they do not represent what you get if you download this app. You can NOT view or play anything that the EMTEC app can not handle natively, which is limited to only Apple’s native iOS formats (mp4/AAC audio for movies as an example) As others have also stated, the app crashes frequently. I can NOT recommend the iCobra USB stick since it requires this app to function. BTW, the USB stick MUST be formatted FAT32 to even be recognized. Not very Apple friendly!

Great as external memory but can't write to jade ice

Poodle shooter

I loads this with MP4 video classes for photography and my music. I also downloaded the photos from my iPad and uploaded them to my iPhone. The only thing that can be uploaded from the iCobra is photos. That's okay since it can play videos right from the iCobra so I have no need to copy them onto my phone. The app is clunky and not as intuitive as I'd like. For example, there is a Create Subfolder command but it is disabled at the when you'd want to use it.

Not Dexxon Group's Fault, Blame Apple

F-Stopped

Great idea...yet did people *really* think Apple was going to let a mere adapter accessory defeat their marketshare and allow an alternative option besides paying exorbitant prices for iCloud storage?! LOL! = Nope!

Don't bother!

Tevyeg

What a colossal waste of time and money. Contrary to their marketing, this device does not actually permit you to backup your music, videos or photos. Oh, sure, the app lets you select them on your iPhone or iPad, but cannot actually copy them to the drive. So much for extra storage space! And since the package has been opened, it now cannot be returned. Thanks for nothing, Emtec.

Not user friendly

Cananite

I find the app to be very hard to figure out how to transfer photos or anything other than contacts backup. I've read the instructions with the flash drive but still can't just plug into phone and transfer data. I have to use windows and move them manually through computer. I think the iExpand might be easier.

Backups fail, large video files won't copy

Craigldavis

I was very hopeful that this device would allow me to copy sports videos (each about 20 mins) to a backup drive without a computer. I have the 1TB wifi drive. No matter what I try, the backup fails or the file copy fails on large files. I was able to transfer a 1.1 GB file but nothing larger has worked. Time to return the drive I suppose.

A nice thumb-drive for the i-Devices

This is a good companion to the Emtec iOS drive. After owning it for 5 months, I JUST discovered the screen gestures: left and right video crawl, and left-side up/ down= brightness, and right-side up/ down = volume. What I REALLY would like to be updated is a (preferably) full-screen visual preview of the video crawl; now THAT would make this a 5-star app. It really needs that.
