Disappointed
Bartbyte

Got this app today because my other prayer book app no longer works on my updated iPhone. Specifically, I got it to read through the office of Confession, which does not seem to be included, along with the omission of the Catechism. So I am disappointed. All the other stuff I looked at seemed ok, it just doesn’t look like the BCP. I suppose I’ll get used to it if I actually use it.

UPDATE!!

I’m using it daily, Daily Devotions for Individuals and Families, and bookmarked various prayers. I’ve also begun using the special Collects offered and reading up on those commemorated. Gr8GraniE

Perfect BCP App
REHMV

Use the Book of Common Prayer? You need this app! The most flexible and powerful of all the BCP apps, you gain full access to every liturgy, readings, calendar options, along with the ability to search, bookmark, email, and print any section or lection. Great for on-the-spot prayers, liturgy planning, or today's Daily Office.

No page numbers
zimmerman80

Although the app has the daily office, and uses bookmarks effectively, there are no "page numbers" in the app, which makes it difficult to use this app along side the printed copy of the Prayer Book.

Bugs, bugs
Revs lope

Runs fine on iPhone but the write up says it works on iPad running 5.0 or higher. It will not run on 5.1.1 (screen flashes and then closes) and there seems to be no support that I can discern. Link for support goes only to a page with description and FAQs. Needs work.

Really good - needs page numbers
Michael Pipkin

I am very impressed. This app is better than iBCP - the pages scroll, which is a huge improvement over iBCP, there are hyperlinked rubrics, and there is an up-to-date calendar-based lectionary that clicks through to scripture readings - AND you can access scripture readings from the relevant parts of worship services. Excellent. My one request is that you add page numbers - much like an Altar Book, when using this app to lead worship it would be helpful to be able to call out the relevant page numbers for those who are still using BCP 1.0 (print editions!). Thanks for a great and thoughtful app. Well done.

I'm not usually a friend of electronic Prayer Books, much preferring the original. However, this is very good and well worth having. With a little practice it is easy to navigate, and I especially like the additional liturgies and prayers from Enriching our Worship. The Rev'd Canon Stephen C. Casey

Disappointing App
Mark-L

An app like this should make it simpler. Since most people are going to have the same general preferences (rite 1 vs. rite 2), an app like this should let me set some preferences and then display a morning prayer to go through all at once. I don't need an electronic re-creation of the BCP with all the flipping back and forth.

Pretty good
Skyblu78

Overall I'm happy with this app. Nice to go from daily lectionaries to morning prayer service. Only bug I've found so far is if you tap on "today" it takes you to a date in September. I tap again and then goes I correct date. Hoping for a fix soon!

Needs Work
BCPuser

Works well on iphone -- but on ipad with 5.1.1 it immediately cuts out. On the iphone it works exactly as advertised ... and I look forward to the ipad glitch being fixed.
