SUMMARY

EatRight is an easy to use diet log that encourages eating the correct amount of food from each of the five food groups every day - a daily food diary.

It's useful for those on a diet that want to follow published USDA guidelines for nutrition and health in the form of a checklist.

You can also track water and sweets/fats intake.

Can be used to keep track of core P90X diet requirements (keeps track of Proteins, Dairy, Fruits, Vegetables, and Carbs).

A log of the last week is kept for easy reference.

No internet connection required, ideal for the iPod Touch.

THE FOOD PYRAMID

Based on the latest diet guidelines from the USDA mypyramid.gov, similar to the paper checklists used in many fitness classes and outdoor bootcamp programs. Rather than carry a paper food log, you carry an app.

CUSTOM DIETS

Opt out of the default diets and create your own portion plan. Meet your goals every day.

SERVING SIZES

The flip side shows each food group and provides common serving sizes in case you're wondering if you should tap off two grain servings or just one.

EAT, TAP, CLOSE

Simply tap a food group icon when you've eaten a serving from that group and watch the icon flip around to reveal a check. The application will indicate your progress, saving the date if you eat the recommended servings from each group. If you're eating well, your last healthy day will always be yesterday. The clock rolls over to a new day at midnight your time.

REUSABLE

Most apps aren’t used days after they're purchased. Don't waste your money on a complex diet tracker when all you need is a checklist. EatRight is easy to use, which means its easy to *keep* using.

Good but.....
Jaycakes45

It slows your phone down and it's simple!

Please update the app! It is sooo slow!

Please update the app! It is sooo slow! my phone even popped up with a warning that the app needs to be updated because it will slow down my phone. It appears to be formatted for iPhone 4 or before. I really like the concept, but please update! I just wasted $1.99.

Not a working app
1dottie1

I payed, but it's not a working app, so it's useless.

Doesn't work
Nessavf

Huge waste of money. Hasn't been updated to work with current phone settings.

Could be better

Serving sizes are not up to date according to the USDA pyramid. Low fat and whole grain should be included as well.

Please update

Would like to see history. I want to be able to go back and see how I did. A graph would also be nice.

Perfect in its Simplicity

This app is perfect for someone who wants to improve their eating and even lose weight but get bogged down counting calories or logging individual foods. If you want a high tech app that will count every vitamin, mineral, calorie - this isn't for you.... but it doesn't mean that this is a bad application. Some of these reviews are people rating this application on features it isn't even meant to have. That said - I would like to see more detailed/extensive pyramid guidance and possibly the ability to chart and receive averages (even without that though - this application fits the bill for me!).

WHY ON EARTH does this not have all five stars lit up and flashing?!! This thing is amazing. Precisely designed as I would have done myself. Tremendous little app. Can't thank you enough!! And live the cute default pictures! Except check marks need to be other than green, so they show up better. Also, more of a color contrast between the little wheat stalks and the chicken! : ) A PERFECT app. Period.

Ok but...
hilda274

Why can't I check off sweets/fats as eaten for the day? I should be able to check off a piece of candy so I remember not to eat any more that day!

Just a checklist
usairman8806

This is nothing more than a food pyramid checklist. No real information. If all you want to do is quickly keep track of types of foods you have eaten for the day, then this app is for you. If you want more in depth information with regards to food groups and nutrition then DO NOT get this app. I find it useful since all I want to do is keep track of my food pyramid. So for the reason I got it I give it 3/5. Although it's a good app it should be around the .99 price range or even Free.
