The app plays video files as expected but there are three major issues: 1. If you on wifi at home, the will pick one and only one wd mycloud to log on. No option to change it or to log in using the correct wd internet log in 2. Once you on LTE and remove the app and then launch it again, you now can enter the wd internet log in info 3. Using internet login, once a wd drive is selected, you cannot change it! The way to select the another wd drive is to remove the app and then launch it again Cannot recommend anyone to buy until the above issues are fixed

I never really like to write reviews, but I needed to speak up for this app. I have a WD MyCloud NAS that I use as a media server, which I spent a while trying to figure out how to make work along with my Apple TV. Every time I wanted to watch a movie, I had to stream through my Mac, which was a lot of work and wasted resources. I looked and looked and looked, and finally came across this app. I figured I would try it out since it was so cheap, so I bought it. At first, it sucked. Movies would not load, it would crash all the time, and it would just not work. Then, there was an update, and it worked like magic. The app works perfectly! It gives you a nice interface where you can watch the movie trailers that you have on your WD MyCloud. It gives you a Summary of the movie, the actors etc. Needless to say, the app is great. If you are looking for an Apple TV app that you can use to watch the movies on your WD device that just combines the best of those 2 worlds, this is it.
You need to buy a WD storage device for this to work

I did not read the fine print :(. You need to have a WD device for this to work, it will not work with your cloud drives (dropbox, google drive, one drive, etc....)

This doesn't work on my iPad trying to access the three WDMyCloud drives on my LAN. It sees only one drive, apparently chosen at random. The only way to get it to see another drive is to uninstall and reinstall the app, and hope it picks the drive you want. Worse, it sees only one of the available login names. Still worse, it does not supply the login credentials correctly, just complains that the user name or password is incorrect when they are not. This app is a waste of money and time.

I hate to be the first. I bought this app because I have movies on my wd mybooklive wireless hard drive. That have been recorded in different formats. This app shows my drive but will not sync with it. And my other wd apps don't ask for a password. And I've sent email and have gotten no response.

What a piece of crap app!! You can only open public folders, Won't let you open private folders!!! Waste of money!!

I should have believed the review said it only accesses public folders. I hope this is a bug and I did I didn't just waste $2.99. Until then it's totally useless don't bother

This works great for me on my iPad. The interface is much better than the cumbersome app provided by WD. I store my videos in a shared folder, and it works fine. I love the screen that appears when you click your movie which shows trailers, stills, actors, and overview. I can't use Plex on the My Cloud that I have, so this is the next best thing! Definitely worth the couple bucks for a better interface.
Ok, but sound doesn't work.

I have the my cloud app and the sound works on that, but not on this app. I like the display of movie information.
