i have an iphone 5s and there is zero sound when it says it is playing a note so i can’t use the app at all

Good app but could be great

Hey guys! This is a great app and helps with ear training a lot! I unfortunately can’t stop myself at one lesson a day lol! Only issue I have is having a playback button on quizzes! My brain may know the notes but can’t always remember the sequence they come in! Sometimes it takes me more than once to hear it! Especially between octaves! Otherwise it’s a good app! Thanks for creating this!

No audio on iPhone X

Any idea?

Great app concept, but no option for no facebook? lame.

I don’t use facebook anymore, and even deleted my profile at the end of last year. Why is there no alternate option for keeping track of my progress? Not the best decision to make for you users, especially in light of all the data manipulation facebook has done. It makes me inherently suspicious of this app developer. I like what this app wants to do, but i might not continue to use it if this is how things are gonna be.

Great app of ear training

This app has a simplest design, lessons and easy to learn. I really enjoy learning EarForge!

Good musicians and great concept

I using this app for a while and it’s help me a lot, I can’t stop using it and it’s fun with lessons and training mode! I think it’s great for musicians to develop their pitch with simple notes and octaves with piano, guitar and bass sounds. I hope you updates new feature soon.

Great app for casual training

Edit: A week after I first posted this, developers have a new update that addressed the complaints from my review. Maybe convenient timing, but you can’t ask for better support than that. It’s simple, intuitive, and I’m only partway through the lessons and noticing improvement. I appreciate the ability to randomize octaves, and now you can see stats without having to log into facebook. If you’re interested in ear training I’d say it’s worth the price. My biggest complaint is the lack of options in the training section. You can only train with one note at a time, when I want to be able to customize which notes it cycles through so I can try to identify multiple notes simultaneously. Making your own lessons would also be a nice feature.

Simple But...

Effective. When I finish all the courses I’ll definitely update this.

Good idea, poor implementation
iOS is bad OS

Exercises in this app are designed to improve your absolute pitch if you already have one. For rest of the world it’s useless. On day 3 it asks you to replay series of 4 nodes by ear - it’s impossible without previous musical education or being very gifted. On day 6 it asks you to differentiate between 3 octaves - be realistic, it’s not going to happen. This app is not based on any research how pitch recognition can be improved. Provided exercises have uneven difficulty progression and pointless to anybody without already decent pitch recognition. Waste of time and money. It has nice and childish user interface - that’s why all these 5 star reviews.

I hate this app...

....because it reveals just how bad i am at this. But i like that feeling of defeat. Not in the moment mind you, but it offers a unique opportunity to open a locked door of potential. I’ve practiced daily for about two weeks now, pulling out my hair and screaming in pain and agony, and i haven’t even completed my first test yet. Bottom line: get this app if this is something you want to accomplish. Deep down I want to be able to identify notes by hear, and while i despise every second of it now, the rewards will be bountiful and worthwhile. Will update this review soon. 01/29/19
