Best Free N-Back App in the App Store

Quixotic Nomad

This app is designed to help you develop solid habits for training your working memory. I’ve downloaded a dozen of these apps and this is by far the best one I’ve used.

Developer listens to feedback!

Dyslexic61

I had contacted the developer because I found the voice narrating the letters did not enunciate clearly between similar sounding letters (like ‘M’ and ‘N’). Also, I found the voice kind of harsh sounding. The developer did respond to my email. And the next day there was a new voice narrating the letters! A much nicer sounding voice that used both tone and clear enunciation to make it easy to hear the difference in similar sounding letters. My score improved immediately. Thanks N-back!

I’d give it a 5

White Fanged dragon

I’m having a hard time distinguishing the sound of the letters like “b” or “v” I wish they could change the voice.

Useless

Audio doesn’t work.

Best Dual N-Back app on the app store

I’ve tried most of the N-Back app on here this app is the best among but it has one fault. The lack of grids. Please add the grids to make the app more easier to use

Why no grid??

Cambiot

On an iPad pro (12.9 inch screen) the small pastel squares on a dark background just get lost. Not sure why the developer can't respond to the multiple requests to add a grid, but there are better dual n-back apps available.

Doesn't advance to next level

HowieHood

The game is great but it doesn't go above 80% to automatically go to the next level even though I'm 100% sure I've gotten them all right. Very frustrating

Too low sound quality

krallgren

Nice design but way too low sound quality for the Swedish version, which is very distracting

Can’t distinguish letters

zakkkkmmmmmmmm

It’s very hard to hear the difference between several of the letters, for instance V and B sound identical. M and N, there are some others but I can’t think of them right now. Please fix this, It’s ridiculous

Cool I Guess

I like the way it’s layed out simple and easy to understand. It’s really convenient finally having N back on my phone. I would honestly love to give it 5 stars but I have some issues with functionality.... So my two or three issues. Not having a grid for the squares makes it harder to keep track and order where the squares were in my mind. Maybe you could keep your ascetic but put an option in the settings to have a faint white grid in place for those that prefer it. Also comparing to the original game there’s a thing where it gives you immediate feedback when you get wrong or right answers. I feel like it helps me improve more when I can tell when I make mistakes or do it right. Either letting the buttons change colors or have an empty button vs a colored yellow button for wrong right. Finally I dislike how quickly the levels change, I really like having the auto change for levels but haveing a margin of error of 15% makes it really confusing going up and down. Maybe let people customize their percentages? I ace 2 back but I don’t get more than 49% on 3 back. PS having an option to display exact numbers for right/wrong answers would be nice.
