Control your DSLR camera from your iPhone or iPad with five different modes of operation. Shoot, Long Exposure, Time Lapse, HDR Bracketing and Movie Mode. DSLR.Bot also has a GPS logging feature for geo-tagging your photos. This app requires an infrared transmitter to control the camera functions.

Warning for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices purchased in the European region. Today, I went to my local electronics store and bought the parts to make the DIY IR remote for my iPhone and it WORKS! No having to buy a laptop to control your DSLR, just get the remote parts and the app. Dude, you just saved me $1100 over the other "remote" apps in the app store. THANK YOU You officially ROCK BIG TIME, and totally deserve my  Rating!!! Thank you. @m00retwits

WARNING... Does not work as advertised

I have a Canon T2i (550D) and built the infrared transmitter as outlined on instructables. I tested the IR transmitter with my MBP webcam and it illuminates just as it does in the dslr.bot test video. However I cannot get the software to fire my camera at all.

Pretty cool

This works pretty well with the canon t2i(550d). I wired mine up myself after a trip to radioshack. It's a little bit flaky. Sometime it takes a few tries to get it to fire the camera. But once you get it positioned correctly it works well like with the time lapse. This could also be caused by the parts I bought rather than the app so who knows. Anyway it's still way worth the money you save not getting a time lapse device or even an rc-6 remote. I wish there were more apps that use IR this way now that I have the cable. Btw please add a function to do time lapse and long exp. together. So for example I can have it do a 3 min exposure then another right after again and again so I can stack them rather than a single long exposure that could come out overexposed.

Totally Legit!!

I picked up a couple of IR LED's from Radio Shack the day I found this app and soldered up the cable using old iPod headphone cable (so I wouldn't have to take off my bumper to use it.) It didn't work at first, but then I plugged in my headphones and made sure the volume was at maximum and everything using the iPod app, then gave it another try. Works as advertised! Awesome idea and terrific execution! Works great with the Canon T1i (500D).

Awesome

Love it

I promised myself to write a review if it works and it does. I bought this app and bout the IR transmitter from their website. It only took 3 days eventhough they are from Australia. I really enjoy it. Thanks to the developers

I just bought this and was wondering if you could build the app to first focus the camera in autofocus mode and then when your ready take the picture.

Insulting customer service.
Act10ng1rl

Purchased the IR jack from company's website to use with app. It worked terribly. After adjusting all the settings per specs on the website and it still malfunctioned I contacted customer service. A person named Alberto replied to my emails and was condescending & gave me the runaround. He gave me canned responses kept insinuating user error, didn't answer my questions and have not replied to requests for a phone number or advisors email. I feel highly insulted by this company. I had to file a claim with Paypal to have the money from the jack returned & have filed complaints with Apple about this app. Buyer beware and certainly don't try to contact them for support.

Fantastic

Best 5 bucks Ive spent on ITunes. And the DIY sheet was fantastic. Saved me a good chunk of change.
