I bought this for my 5 year old. He loves it but completed the first three levels in about an hour. Level 4 and 5 do not open. There is no update and i'm out $5+. Plus i have an upset child who thinks he did something wrong because the levels aren't opening. Most expensive app i've bought for only an hour of play time. Not worth it.

The app uses adorable little growing monsters to teach the relationships between numbers and variables in algebra. My five year old loves it and do do I!
Level 3-20 unsolvable?

a/5 + x = -c Obviously the solution is x= -a/5 -c However, I don't see any way to subtract a/5 at this stage of the game so it's impossible to clear the equation. Unless I am totally confused. Please fix or at least tell me the solution. But as for reviewing the app, I think DragonBox is the best thing I've ever seen for learning Algebra. I tested it by solving every problem on DragonBox 12+. I like the slower progression on DragonBox 5+, it helps even older learners who have difficulty solving the problems in DragonBox 12+.

This is such a fantastic way to introduce algebra to kids on the graphically symbolic level they can comprehend! I bought this for my iPad, projected it up on the Smartboard, and EVERY kid was engaged as we took turns working our way through the first level. I had kids “playing this game” at recess on a sunny day — THAT’S how much they liked it! Fantastic job, WeWantToKnow! I will gladly spread the word on your app!

Excellent way for young children to learn basic algebraic principles and start to develop an intuitive feel for math. I teach college math and my 3-year old loves this.
